Personal Injury Legal Intern - Part-time

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Personal Injury Legal Intern to assist the team with personal injury cases from initial intake through settlement or litigation. This position provides hands-on exposure to legal research, case preparation, client communication, discovery, and the day-to-day operations of a personal injury law practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist team with case preparation, organization, and file management.
- Conduct legal research on personal injury, negligence, liability, damages, and related issues.
- Draft and review legal documents, correspondence, case summaries, and research memoranda.
- Assist with discovery, including reviewing medical records, police reports, insurance documents, and other evidence.
- Organize and summarize medical records and treatment histories.
- Assist attorneys in preparing demand packages, settlement documentation, pleadings, and discovery responses.
- Review and organize evidence, photographs, witness information, and other case materials.
- Help prepare for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial.
- Maintain accurate case notes, deadlines, and document files.
- Assist with client intake and communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, insurance representatives, and opposing counsel as directed.
- Perform administrative and case-support duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Current law student preferred; undergraduate students pursuing a legal career may also be considered.
- Strong interest in personal injury law, civil litigation, or trial advocacy.
- Excellent legal research, writing, proofreading, and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information appropriately.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn legal case-management software.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff.
Preferred Skills
- Coursework or experience in torts, civil procedure, evidence, or litigation.
- Prior experience with a law firm, legal clinic, courthouse, or legal research.
- Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Interest in litigation, negotiation, and trial practice.
What the Intern Will Gain
The intern will gain practical experience working on real personal injury matters and develop skills in legal research, case analysis, medical-record review, discovery, settlement preparation, client communication, and litigation support.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
