Welder-Fabricator
Department: Fabrication
Job Type: Full-Time (40+ hours/week)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Location: On-Site
We're hiring Fabricators at all experience levels — from entry-level to advanced — to join our metal fabrication shop. Whether you're just starting out or you're a seasoned pro who can mentor a team, we have a role for you. You'll build parts and assemblies from blueprints and work orders using saws, grinders, drill presses, brakes, shears, flame cutters, and more, working with materials like sheet metal, plate, bar, beam, channel, and tubing.
We'll place you at the level that matches your experience:
Fabricator I (Entry-Level) — Learn shop processes under direct supervision. Read basic blueprints, measure and prepare materials, and perform basic welding prep, fitting, and finishing while building foundational skills.
Fabricator II (Mid-Level) — Work independently to fabricate parts and assemblies to spec with minimal supervision. Typically requires 2+ years of fabrication experience or equivalent skill.
Fabricator III (Advanced) — Independently fabricate complex parts, troubleshoot fitment and quality issues, and mentor Fabricator I and II team members. Typically requires 4+ years of fabrication experience or equivalent skill.
What You'll Do
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
- Measure, cut, bend, grind, drill, and prepare materials to specification
- Operate fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, drill presses, brakes, shears, and flame cutters
- Lay out, fit, and prepare parts and assemblies for welding
- Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring tapes, squares, calipers, and gauges
- Track material usage and time accurately using company systems
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all safety policies and properly wear required PPE
- More experienced fabricators will also troubleshoot fabrication issues and mentor less-experienced team members
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required
- Fabrication or manufacturing experience preferred; entry-level candidates welcome to apply
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and safety rules (advanced blueprint interpretation for senior levels)
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently, more with assistance
- Reliable, safety-focused, and a strong team player
Why This Role Matters
Fabricators are at the heart of our production process, turning raw materials into quality parts and assemblies safely, accurately, and on schedule. As you grow with us, you'll take on more independence, more complex work, and the opportunity to mentor others on the shop floor.
