The Bridge Ministries exists to eliminate hunger in the Brazos Valley by feeding bodies and souls. Rooted in Christian faith and driven by compassion, we serve individuals and families through food assistance, resource connection, and meaningful relationships that restore dignity and reflect the love of Christ.
As a growing faith-based nonprofit, we are seeking a mission-driven Executive Director to provide visionary leadership, strengthen community partnerships, expand financial support, and guide the daily operations of the ministry.
Position Summary
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of The Bridge Ministries and is responsible for advancing the organization's mission, vision, and strategic priorities. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides leadership for all aspects of the ministry, including fundraising, community engagement, financial stewardship, staff leadership, volunteer engagement, program oversight, and organizational growth.
The Executive Director will lead a team consisting of a Development & Outreach Coordinator and a Pantry & Volunteer Supervisor while cultivating strong relationships with donors, churches, volunteers, community partners, and the families served by the ministry.
This role requires a servant-hearted leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and demonstrates a deep commitment to Christian ministry and nonprofit excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Mission & Organizational Leadership
- Champion and advance the mission, vision, and values of The Bridge Ministries.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to support organizational growth and long-term sustainability.
- Foster a culture of servant leadership, integrity, accountability, and Christ-centered service.
- Ensure ministry activities align with organizational goals and community needs.
Staff Leadership & Team Development
- Directly supervise the Development & Outreach Coordinator and Pantry & Volunteer Supervisor.
- Provide coaching, support, performance management, and professional development opportunities.
- Establish clear goals, expectations, and accountability measures for staff.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration across all ministry functions.
Fundraising & Donor Development
- Lead all fundraising efforts and serve as the primary relationship manager for major donors.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, church, corporate, and foundation supporters.
- Develop and implement annual fundraising strategies and campaigns.
- Utilize donor management systems to track engagement, measure results, and strengthen donor retention.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including grants and sponsorships.
Community Outreach & Public Relations
- Serve as the primary ambassador and spokesperson for The Bridge Ministries.
- Build relationships with churches, businesses, civic organizations, and community leaders throughout the Brazos Valley.
- Represent the organization through public speaking engagements, media opportunities, and community events.
- Oversee marketing and communications efforts to increase awareness, volunteer engagement, and donor support.
Program & Operations Management
- Ensure effective and efficient operation of pantry services, volunteer programs, and outreach initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of client care, ensuring every individual is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
- Evaluate programs and processes to improve service delivery and organizational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to identify operational improvements and emerging community needs.
Financial Stewardship & Administration
- Work with the Board of Directors to develop and manage the annual budget.
- Ensure responsible stewardship of financial, physical, and human resources.
- Monitor organizational performance and key operational metrics.
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulations, reporting requirements, and organizational policies.
Board Relations & Strategic Planning
- Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
- Provide timely reports, recommendations, and operational updates to the Board.
- Support Board engagement, committee work, and governance responsibilities.
- Assist with long-range planning to ensure the ministry's continued growth and impact.
Qualifications
Required
- Active Christian faith and commitment to advancing the mission of The Bridge Ministries.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of three years of leadership experience in nonprofit, ministry, business, or related organizational management.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, donor relations, or business development.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a dynamic environment.
Preferred
- Experience leading a nonprofit organization or ministry.
- Experience managing staff and volunteers.
- Grant writing or grant management experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
