Laura Leon Law, PLLC is currently seeking a Immigration Paralegal, the paralegal will provide essential support to attorneys in various legal matters, including but not limited to research, document preparation, and case management. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team.

Job Description:

Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research using online databases, libraries, and other resources to gather relevant case law, statutes, regulations, and legal articles.
Document Preparation: Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and correspondence under the supervision of attorneys.
Case Management: Assist with case preparation, including organizing and maintaining case files, scheduling meetings, and tracking deadlines.
Client Communication: Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal matters to gather information and provide updates on case status.
Court Filings: Prepare and file legal documents with courts, administrative agencies, and other relevant entities, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements and deadlines.
Discovery Support: Assist with the discovery process by gathering, reviewing, and organizing documents and evidence relevant to litigation.
Trial Support: Provide support during trial proceedings, including preparing trial exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and assisting attorneys with courtroom logistics.
Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining attorney calendars.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Certificate or degree in paralegal studies preferred.
Proficiency in legal research methods and resources.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent English & Spanish language skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software applications.
Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
Previous experience working in a law firm or legal department preferred.
