Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the financial management and reporting of various projects, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Your expertise will drive accurate financial analysis, cost management, and project budgeting, supporting our organization’s strategic objectives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to new construction and tenant improvement projects while utilizing your strong accounting skills and technical proficiency.

Responsibilities

Manage project-specific financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing and progress billings/invoicing.
Oversee the preparation and submission of monthly AIA progress billings (G702/G703) and time-and-materials (T&M) billings.
Ensure all executed and pending Change Orders (COs) are properly logged, budgeted, and billed in the accounting system.
Review subcontractor payment applications, ensuring compliance with insurance/SO&A requirements, prevailing wage rules (if applicable), and retainage withholdings.
Prepare and manage project documentation folders.
Assist with contract review, plan submittals, pre-liens, lien waivers entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Manage conditional and unconditional lien waivers for subcontractors, vendors, and general contractors.
Participate and generate reports for weekly review meetings (Estimates, Scheduling, Production and Projects).
Assist with general office duties, as needed.
Actively work on Accounts Receivable and maintain communications and documentation for collections.
Proficiency with QuickBooks Online software accounting, Advanced Microsoft Excel experience and construction ERP systems.
Industry Knowledge of job cost principles, retainage and construction compliance workflow.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating across teams .

Pay: $60,400.00 - $74,880.00 per year
