Job Description
Lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of resident engagement initiatives by managing projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and overseeing program operations that enhance resident well-being, satisfaction, and quality of life. Ensure all programs are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with organizational goals and successful aging principles.
Major Responsibilities
Program & Project Management
· Direct the planning, execution, and evaluation of resident enrichment programs, special events, community outreach initiatives, and wellness activities.
· Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful implementation of departmental initiatives.
· Manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing operational priorities and resident needs.
· Evaluate program outcomes using resident feedback, participation metrics, and quality indicators to drive continuous improvement.
· Ensure all projects align with organizational objectives, regulatory requirements, and best practices in senior living.
Leadership & Team Management
· Lead, mentor, and develop the Life Enrichment team through effective hiring, onboarding, coaching, scheduling, and performance management.
· Delegate responsibilities, establish priorities, and monitor project progress to ensure timely completion of departmental objectives.
· Foster collaboration, accountability, and innovation while promoting professional development and ongoing education.
· Coordinate staffing coverage to ensure uninterrupted program delivery.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Serve as a member of the community leadership team, partnering with department leaders to identify resident needs and implement organization-wide initiatives.
· Facilitate communication between residents, families, leadership, and care teams to ensure alignment on project goals and resident outcomes.
· Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings and contribute recommendations that support individualized resident engagement plans.
Operational Planning & Administration
· Develop annual departmental goals, strategic initiatives, and operational plans.
· Manage the department budget, monitor expenditures, prepare annual forecasts, and ensure fiscal accountability.
· Oversee procurement of supplies, equipment, entertainment, and contracted services to support program execution.
· Process invoices, maintain financial records, and monitor spending to remain within budget parameters.
Resident Engagement & Quality Improvement
· Conduct resident lifestyle assessments to identify interests, strengths, and opportunities for engagement.
· Monitor resident participation and satisfaction, implementing program improvements based on measurable outcomes.
· Address resident and family concerns promptly and develop action plans to improve service delivery.
· Support resident councils and advisory committees by facilitating meetings, documenting action items, and ensuring follow-up.
Communication & Event Coordination
· Develop and maintain activity calendars, newsletters, announcements, and project communications.
· Coordinate community-wide events, seasonal celebrations, educational programs, and external partnerships.
· Oversee community décor and event logistics to ensure high-quality resident experiences.
· Maintain accurate documentation, reports, meeting minutes, and departmental records.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
· Ensure documentation meets organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
· Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and company policies governing resident programming.
· Implement quality improvement initiatives and monitor departmental performance metrics.
Additional Responsibilities
· Maintain departmental reports and performance data.
· Support transportation and logistics for resident outings when needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
· 4 year degree required
· Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Healthcare Administration, Recreation Therapy, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
· National Association of Activity Professionals (NAAP) certification preferred.
· Creative and effective writing experience.
· Experience working with design softwares.
· Experience managing projects, programs, or operations within senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a related service environment preferred.
· Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
· Strong project planning, budgeting, scheduling, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building abilities.
· Proficiency with project tracking, reporting, and performance measurement.
· Creative, adaptable, and committed to continuous process improvement and resident-centered service.
Pay: From $83,000.00 per year
