About us:

ArcelorMittal Tubular Products (AMTP) in Shelby, Ohio produces welded and seamless precision tubes in a wide spectrum of carbon and alloy grades and offers one of the most extensive size ranges in the world. Our tubular products serve a variety of markets including automotive, industrial and construction equipment, hydraulic cylinders, agricultural equipment and mineral mining equipment.The position requires the flexibility to work any shift, overtime as needed, plus a 7-day work week when production demands.

Your role:

The ArcelorMittal Tubular Products (AMTP) Industrial Machinist will report to the Maintenance Supervisors. This role will set up and operate all CNC and manual machines to construct and repair metal parts, tools and machines.

Main tasks:

Receive work assignments from Supervisor and perform work with minimal amount of supervision.
Receive work assignments from Supervisor and perform work with minimal amount of supervision.
Determine working procedures by studying and interpreting prints and specifications, or other instructions as necessary.
Perform work utilizing knowledge of shop mathematics, machinist’s charts and tables, and working properties of metals.
Set proper speeds and feeds on machines.
Select and utilize all machinist hands tools.
Operate machine to shape metal into desired part to precise dimensions with close tolerances prescribed.
Exercise proper care of machinery and equipment.
Report unusual conditions to supervisor

Must have:

High school diploma or equivalent (required).
5 years of experience in heavy industrial maintenance machining or related skills or completion of journeyman certification in machining mechanical maintenance field.
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, sketches, and plans.
Experience using various hand tools, wrenches, power hand tools, torches and required equipment to complete task.
Basic PC skills.

Other important details for an Industrial Machinist:

Candidate must possess the physical ability to frequently lift, climb stairs, stand, walk, crouch, squat, bend, kneel and move throughout the plant as needed.
Experience operating mobile equipment such as forklift, scissor and articulating lifts.
Participate actively in the training of other maintenance personnel.
Observe all safety regulations.
Ability to work any shift and a 7 days per week schedule.
