Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to attorneys in family law cases, ensuring that all legal documentation is accurate and timely. This role requires a strong understanding of family law principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Please note that this position could be full time or part-time. At this time our specific requirement is someone that can be in office M-T 9:30-3pm.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents related to family law cases, including divorce petitions, custody agreements, and support modifications.
Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
Maintain organized case files and ensure all documentation is filed accurately and promptly.
Provide executive administrative support, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence.
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Utilize CLIO or similar document management systems for efficient file organization and retrieval.
Draft legal documents as required by attorneys.
Stay updated on changes in family law regulations and procedures to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent certification.
Experience: Experience in Family law
Proficiency in legal software (e.g., Clio, MyCase) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Thorough understanding of family law processes, court procedures, and local/state regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining professionalism.
Demonstrated empathy and discretion in handling sensitive client information.
