Seeking a detail-oriented Title Abstractor to join our growing real estate team. Must have experience. This position plays a key role in researching and compiling property records to support the title examination and closing process. The Title Abstractor will conduct title searches, gather and review public records, and prepare accurate title search packages for review.
The ideal candidate will have experience searching real estate records, a strong understanding of property ownership and title documentation, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Conduct title searches using county, municipal, and online records
- Research deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, tax records, and other recorded documents
- Compile complete and accurate title search packages for examination
- Verify chain of title and identify relevant documents affecting property ownership
- Obtain copies of recorded documents and supporting records as needed
- Communicate with county offices, municipalities, and other agencies to gather information
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely completion of assigned searches
- Work closely with title examiners, attorneys, lenders, and real estate professionals throughout the transaction process
Qualifications
- Prior title abstracting experience
- Familiarity with public land records and title searching procedures
- Strong understanding of real estate transactions and title-related documents
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong research, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with computers and online record search platforms
