Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Stylist Assistant to join our vibrant team! In this role, you will support the daily operations of our salon, assist with client services, and help maintain a welcoming environment for both clients and staff. Your energy, attention to detail, and passion for beauty will contribute to delivering exceptional experiences. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, creative setting while gaining more education and experience in this field.

Duties

Greet clients warmly and manage client hospitality with professionalism and enthusiasm
Assist stylist during appointments, ensuring smooth workflow and client satisfaction, this includes shampoos, blow outs, and color application
Support retail sales through selling and educating clients on hair care products
Maintain salon sanitation standards by cleaning tools, stations, and ensuring proper sterilization procedures are followed
Help with inventory management and restocking supplies to keep the salon organized and efficient
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, scheduling appointments, and communicating effectively

Requirements

Licensed NYS Cosmetologist or in the process of obtaining license
Prior experience working in the beauty industry or a related customer service environment is preferred
Strong communication skills with the ability to connect confidently with clients and team members
Basic understanding of hair care, hair coloring, hair extensions, styling techniques, and sanitation practices
Familiarity with cosmetology concepts such as color theory, barbering, cutting, and waxing
Ability to perform retail math for upselling products effectively
Experience working with diverse beauty treatments including hair coloring, styling, and straight razor shaving is a plus
A professional attitude with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
