Full Job Description

This role pays $22/hour and offers hybrid schedule, including a 30 minute paid lunch!

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for all A/R duties including but not limited to:

Manage follow-up activities for denied clinical office visit and surgical/procedural claims to ensure timely resolution and reimbursement.
Maintain current knowledge of insurance carriers, payer policies, and plan-specific billing requirements.
Monitor insurance claim aging, resubmit claims when appropriate, and ensure compliance with payer-specific timely filing guidelines.
Research, investigate, and resolve denied or rejected claims through appeals, disputes, and claim corrections.
Collaborate with the coding team to identify and resolve coding-related claim denials.
Analyze denial trends, identify root causes, and work with leadership to implement process improvements and support departmental initiatives.
Utilize multiple insurance payer portals and online resources to efficiently manage billing and collections activities.
Apply working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines to support accurate claim submission and denial resolution.
Prepare and provide accounts receivable aging reports and other performance metrics to the Billing Manager on a regular basis.
Maintain accurate documentation of account activity and payer communications.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

2-5 years medical billing experience in a medical billing with the duties mentioned above.
Extensive EMR experience, preferably MEDENT or EPIC.
Knowledge of medical insurances and claim correction requirements.
Knowledge of WNY Healthenet, Connex, EPaces, Avality, and others.
Familiarity of electronic re-submissions.
Microsoft office Knowledge, especially Excel and Outlook.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have good organizational skills.
Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and composure when handling difficult clients/stressful situations.
