Growing performing arts studio seeking an Operations Director to take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the business so the owner can focus on growth, strategy, leadership, and the long-term vision of the company.

This role is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership position and enjoys being the person who keeps a business running smoothly behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities:

● Oversee daily business operations and ensure the business runs smoothly and efficiently.

● Develop, document, and maintain operational systems and procedures.

● Monitor schedules, staffing, facilities, supplies, and business needs.

● Identify operational inefficiencies and implement improvements.

● Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently followed.

● Coordinate communication between staff, customers, vendors, and leadership.

Staff Management

● Recruit, onboard, train, and support employees as needed.

● Create clear expectations and accountability standards for staff.

● Manage staff schedules and coverage.

● Conduct regular staff check-ins and performance evaluations.

● Address employee concerns and performance issues professionally.

● Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional workplace culture.

Customer Experience

● Ensure customers receive consistent, professional, and welcoming service.

● Respond to customer questions, concerns, and requests.

● Establish customer service standards and procedures.

● Monitor customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement.

● Support customer retention and engagement initiatives.

Financial & Administrative Management

● Monitor accounts receivable, payments, and outstanding balances.

● Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting.

● Monitor payroll information and employee hours.

● Review business expenses and identify opportunities to improve profitability.

● Maintain accurate business records.

● Coordinate with accountants, bookkeepers, and other professional advisors.

Sales & Marketing Support

● Support enrollment, sales, and customer acquisition initiatives.

● Monitor leads, conversions, retention, and other key performance indicators.

● Coordinate marketing campaigns and promotional activities.

● Ensure business communications and marketing materials are consistent with the company’s brand.

● Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve customer retention.

Systems & Technology

● Maintain and optimize business management software and systems.

● Ensure staff are properly trained on required technology.

● Identify opportunities to automate repetitive administrative tasks.

● Maintain accurate customer and business information.

● Regularly evaluate whether current systems are meeting the needs of the business.

Facilities & Vendors

● Ensure the facility is clean, safe, organized, and operational.

● Coordinate maintenance and repairs.

● Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.

● Monitor inventory and order necessary supplies.

● Ensure compliance with applicable safety and business requirements.

Strategic Support

● Provide the owner with regular updates regarding business performance.

● Track and report key performance indicators.

● Identify operational, financial, and staffing challenges before they become significant problems.

● Recommend strategies to improve profitability, efficiency, and customer experience.

● Help implement the owner’s strategic vision and long-term goals.

Qualifications

Proven experience in operations leadership, with a track record of driving operational excellence and change management across complex businesses
Strong background in business operations, budgeting, forecasting, and program management; adept at strategic planning and executive-level communication
Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, including supervising teams, staff development, and recruitment/onboarding process improvements
Proficient in process improvement, project management, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance efficiency and performance
Excellent verbal and written communication with executives; ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and operational metrics effectively

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
