Assistant Property Manager

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to support the management of a growing portfolio of multifamily residential properties throughout Buffalo, NY. This is a primarily remote position with occasional local travel required for property-related tasks.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working independently, possesses excellent customer service skills, and is proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Assist with the day-to-day management of multifamily residential properties.
Coordinate maintenance requests and communicate with vendors to ensure timely completion of repairs.
Communicate professionally with residents regarding rent payments, maintenance requests, lease renewals, and community policies.
Pick up and process incoming mail as needed.
Deliver keys and move-in materials to new tenants when necessary.
Perform occasional quality control inspections to ensure units are rent-ready.
Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, invoice tracking, and financial reporting.
Prepare reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel and Word.
Help ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, landlord-tenant laws, and Section 8 requirements.
Provide administrative support to the Property Manager and ownership team.

Qualifications

Previous experience in property management, leasing, real estate administration, or a related office environment preferred.
Strong organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and general computer applications.
Experience with property management software (AppFolio, Yardi, Buildium, Rent Manager, or similar) is preferred but not required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic bookkeeping or accounting experience is a plus.
Reliable transportation for occasional local travel within the Buffalo area.

Compensation & Benefits

$20–$25 per hour, based on experience.
Mileage/gas reimbursement for required work-related travel.
Potential reduced rent for employees residing in one of our company-owned apartments.
Primarily remote work environment with flexible scheduling.
