Full Job Description

Job Overview

We have an anticipated opening for a Multimedia Specialist at the West Seneca Central School District. This a new civil service title for the district and a formal application will be posted within a few weeks pending final approval from the county. We would love to hear from qualified candidates who are interested in this rare and exciting opportunity and discuss further. This role is eligible for the Erie County HELPS program which expedites the civil service hiring process without an exam. This is the perfect opportunity for a seasoned AV and digital video professional looking for a stable job with excellent benefits.

Key Requirements

The official qualifications will posted with the job description pending final determination by Erie County. The ideal candidate will have some college and at least five years of professional experience with digital video production. The focus for this role is event digital video recording and publishing and maintaining district AV systems for presentation. Experience in education is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain broadcast studio equipment, including lighting systems, audio systems, and video editing for live multi-camera events
Record and publish monthly board meetings and school events
Develop and support the technical aspects of student media production labs
Edit videos utilizing media editing tools such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe After Effects
Create simple graphics and visual elements using graphic design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign for multimedia projects
Maintain the district's video asset library
Perform maintenance and upgrades on AV presentation systems

Skills

Expertise in live video production using multi-camera switching equipment
Expertise in designing and installing AV production systems
Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite applications and/or Final Cut Pro
Strong videography skills for documentary, interview, and ENG style productions
Familiarity with media editing tools for post-production workflows to create engaging informational content
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with creative teams and stakeholders

Flexible Schedule Requirements

This job is full-time, usually 8 hour days between seven and four, but candidates must be willing to flex their schedule (12-8 pm) for Board meetings and other evening events that occur throughout the school year. Hours worked in excess of the 40-hour work week qualify for overtime pay.

Pay: $67,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
