Job purpose
The Quality & Safety Coordinator supports the day-to-day quality assurance function within the warehouse operation and assists with safety-related coordination where it intersects with warehouse procedures, training, documentation, audits, and compliance requirements. This role helps ensure that company procedures, customer requirements, food safety standards, BRCGS/HACCP programs, GMP expectations, corrective actions, traceability processes, and safety practices are followed accurately and consistently.
The Quality & Safety Coordinator reports to the Quality Assurance Senior Manager. The role is hands-on and requires regular presence on the warehouse floor to verify that procedures are being followed, records are accurate, and quality, food safety, and safety-related expectations are being reinforced. This position may also coordinate with the Safety Manager on employee safety matters, incident follow-up, training needs, or overlapping compliance requirements.
Duties and responsibilities
· Support the company's quality assurance, food safety, and compliance programs.
· Maintain and support BRCGS, HACCP, GMP, GFSI-benchmarked, and other applicable food safety and quality standards.
· Perform regular warehouse quality audits and inspections to confirm that procedures are being followed.
· Monitor warehouse processes to help ensure product integrity, cleanliness, documentation accuracy, and compliance at all stages of the operation.
· Assist with internal audits, customer audits, certification audits, and audit preparation.
· Support the audit system to help ensure required BRCGS documentation is completed accurately and timely.
· Assist with document control for the site's quality programs, including procedures, forms, records, and related updates.
· Maintain quality, food safety, GMP, safety training, and related compliance records as assigned.
· Help train employees on quality procedures, GMP expectations, warehouse procedures, and applicable safety-related requirements.
· Support the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process, including follow-up, verification, and effectiveness review.
· Review records, investigate findings, and support corrective actions related to audits, nonconformances, inventory quality issues, and customer complaints.
· Monitor and uphold lot traceability and support mock recalls or traceability exercises as needed.
· Participate in management and documentation of pest control programs as they relate to warehouse quality and food safety.
· Assist with safety walks, warehouse observations, PPE/GMP follow-up, and safety-related documentation when assigned.
· Coordinate with the Safety Manager on incident follow-up, training records, hazard observations, and corrective actions where quality, food safety, warehouse procedures, or employee safety overlap.
· Identify opportunities to improve quality controls, warehouse processes, procedures, documentation, training, and compliance practices.
· Work closely with warehouse operations to resolve quality or compliance issues while maintaining company and customer standards.
· Practice and promote GMPs, sanitation standards, operational procedures, safe work practices, and professional workplace expectations.
· Assist and back up the Quality Assurance Senior Manager as needed.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· One to three years of experience in quality assurance, food safety, warehouse operations, logistics, distribution, safety coordination, or a related field preferred.
· Experience with BRCGS, HACCP, GMP, GFSI-benchmarked standards, or related food safety programs preferred.
· Knowledge of quality assurance/control practices, audit processes, documentation control, corrective action procedures, and warehouse compliance practices.
· Experience working with internal audits, customer audits, certification audits, or safety inspections preferred.
· Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to help investigate root causes.
· Ability to maintain accurate records and follow through on corrective actions, training items, documentation requirements, and assigned compliance tasks.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
· Ability to work effectively with warehouse employees, managers, customers, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer-based recordkeeping tools.
· OSHA, DOT, fleet safety, or safety-related experience is helpful; this role supports safety coordination but does not replace the Safety Manager function.

Work environment
· This position works in both an office and warehouse environment.
· Regular time on the warehouse floor is required.
· Exposure to dust, warehouse traffic, temperature changes, and normal warehouse operating conditions may occur.
· This is generally a first-shift position, but flexibility may be required for audits, training, meetings, or operational needs.
Physical requirements
· Ability to sit for extended periods while completing computer work and documentation.
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while conducting inspections, audits, safety observations, or warehouse follow-up.
· Ability to bend, squat, reach, and move throughout warehouse areas safely.
· Ability to use hands and fingers for computer work, documentation, inspections, and light handling of materials.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
