Job Title: Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk

Job Summary:

The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for invoicing customers and for managing incoming payments of those invoices, properly recording them into the accounting system, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role ensures that the company receives payments for goods and services provided to customers and records these transactions accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

Generate and send invoices to clients in a timely manner. Process and record customer payments (checks, ACH, credit cards). (reversed order) Monitor accounts for past due invoices and follow up with customers for payment. Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for. Investigate and resolve discrepancies or billing issues. Maintain accurate and organized financial records. Prepare aging reports and assist with month-end closing. Collaborate with sales and customer service teams regarding billing concerns. Assist with audits by providing required documentation.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred)

2–3 years of accounts receivable, accounting, or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a construction or trades-service (e.g., HVAC, Plumbing, Electric, etc.) environment. Basic understanding of accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and time management skills.

Effective communication and customer service abilities. Problem-solving mindset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of integrity and professionalism.

Work Environment:

Typically office-based or in a structured business environment. May require extended hours during month-end or audit periods.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
