About us

Phillips State Prison is a medium security facility located in Gwinnett County. We are better together change agents working to protect Georgians while providing opportunities for offender rehabilitation.

Responsibilities:

· Maintain a secure facility

· Manage offenders in their living, work, education, group areas

· Supervise offender activities and behaviors

· Expedite searches while confiscating all contraband items

· Enforce rules and regulations

· Assist fellow officers by responding to emergencies and disturbances

· Conduct inmate counts, searches, and inspections

· Escort offenders to various locations

· Complete accurate and detailed reports of incidents, activities, and inmate behavior

Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Must be at least 21 years old

· Must pass: Basic Reading/Writing, Drug, Integrity, and Background tests

· Must be a United States citizen (Not a Work Permit)

· Must successfully complete Basic Correction Officer Training

· Must adhere to the uniform, dress, and grooming policies
