Full Job Description

Position

This newly created assistant position will support a principal (a philanthropist and Christian non-profit leader) who is has a Bellevue base, but international life. Seeking a smart, resourceful assistant, with high integrity, to essentially project manage her life and professional affairs.

Due to the nature of most of the work, this position is best suited for someone with experience who will be self-sufficient and highly efficient in this work. (Note: this is NOT a junior-level role)

Key Responsibilities:

The principal currently runs a future-focused, Christian faith-based organization in Africa committed to ending malaria. Some responsibilities, on behalf of the principal, will be tied to this organization.

· Emails/correspondence. Monitor the principal’s emails (work/personal all in same box) and flag anything that could slip through the cracks)

· Research. The principal is opening some businesses abroad and will need support researching all aspects of this work.

· Prepping for meetings and events the principal will attend

· Some communications/org support, and will support identifying additional resources, as needed

· Collaboration with and loose management of current employees (ex: health caregivers for a family member). The current employees currently have direct contact with the principal, so the assistant will need to simultaneously respect the pre-existing relationships, but also help principal manage the staff members and work toward establishing appropriate, professional boundaries and long-term systems.

· Help in management of 3 properties (this includes establishing a household manual and go-to guide for all vendors used for the Seattle homes, as well as properties in other states, maintenance schedules, etc.)

· Travel planning/assistance. The principal travels a lot (both domestic and international) and has become efficient in her travel planning, but will appreciate being able to hand the baton.

· Calendar assistance

· Manage pet care (2 cats and 2 horses). Think ahead and plan for all the needs of animals

· Research

· Gift-buying/shipping

· Errands (particularly when principal is due to return home from extensive travel or getting ready for a big trip)

· Additional projects and work, as assigned

The professional we hire:

· Mentality: No Job Too Big, No Job Too Small

· You are an experienced assistant who has supported an individual (4+ years of experience as an assistant, ideally)

· You are good at project management and have experience keeping multiple projects going, with or without direction

· You have proven to be an effective, independent worker, who thrives in quiet environments (as opposed to big offices with a lot of colleagues)

· You are a strong writer and value professional communication

· You are proactive and see ahead of the curve

· You like working in non-traditional environments (i.e. this is not a role for someone who likes typical business structure, established process, etc.)

· You are a helper and a doer.

· Must have travel booking experience (for someone other than yourself/family)

· Mac or PC adaptability. The principal uses a Mac and iPhone, so while not a requirement to be a current Mac/iPhone user, must be able to support someone who does

Work realities

· 30-40 hours/week (open to different scenarios)

· Schedule flexibility, but must maintain some established hours

· Work will be a combination of on-site (Bellevue/Cougar Mtn), and remote

Comp + Benefits:

· Salary based on hours agreed to in advance (flexibility to work 30-40 hours/week, and pay will align with hours)

· Benefits to be discussed (this is a newly created position, so nothing currently established)
