Take Ownership of Industrial Projects
Goff Welding is looking for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of industrial welding and fabrication projects from kickoff through completion.
This position is responsible for coordinating customers, field crews, materials, schedules, subcontractors, quality, safety, project costs, and overall execution. The right candidate understands industrial construction and fabrication, can make decisions independently, and knows how to keep projects moving when conditions change.
We are looking for someone who already has the technical knowledge, field experience, leadership ability, and problem-solving skills required to manage complex projects.
Formal Project Manager experience is preferred, but we will consider candidates with significant experience as a Foreman, Superintendent, Field Supervisor, Fabrication Supervisor, or other construction leader who has independently coordinated projects, crews, customers, and field operations.
This is not a training position. The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership, make decisions, communicate effectively, and manage projects with a high level of independence.
What You'll DoProject Management
- Take full ownership of projects from kickoff through completion.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project scope before work begins.
- Develop project execution plans and identify potential risks.
- Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and schedules.
- Ensure field crews have the information, materials, equipment, and support required to execute the work.
- Monitor project progress and adjust priorities as conditions change.
- Identify and remove obstacles that impact field productivity.
- Maintain control of project scope, schedule, cost, and execution.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to company quality standards.
Customer Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and on-site engagement.
- Conduct regular project updates and communicate changes promptly.
- Keep customers informed throughout every phase of the project.
- Clarify project scope, expectations, and changes with customers and internal teams.
- Address and resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally.
- Maintain strong working relationships with customers throughout the life of the project.
Leadership
- Lead and support Foremen and field leadership.
- Clearly communicate project expectations, priorities, and deadlines.
- Provide direction to field leadership and crews when challenges arise.
- Hold team members accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and communication.
- Address performance and execution issues directly.
- Promote a culture of ownership, teamwork, and accountability.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards and customer expectations.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to maintain quality control.
- Identify and resolve quality issues before they impact project completion.
- Ensure compliance with food-grade stainless steel fabrication requirements when applicable.
- Enforce company safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
- Take immediate action when safety or quality issues threaten the project.
Financial & Project Controls
- Monitor labor hours, project budgets, costs, and profitability.
- Track project performance against budget and schedule.
- Identify potential cost overruns and take corrective action.
- Identify and pursue potential change orders when project scope changes.
- Protect project gross margins through proactive planning and communication.
- Maintain accurate project documentation for billing and reporting.
- Communicate financial or operational issues that could affect project profitability.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, production, Foremen, and field crews.
- Coordinate multiple trades and resources to keep projects moving.
- Generate project status updates and performance reports.
- Identify recurring issues and implement practical solutions.
- Recommend improvements to company systems, processes, and standard operating procedures.
- Look for ways to make projects safer, more efficient, and more profitable.

Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of welding, fabrication, pipefitting, or related field experience.
- Experience coordinating multiple trades and field crews.
- Experience working directly with customers.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and project specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage priorities and resolve project issues.
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard project documentation.
- Experience managing budgets, labor hours, project costs, or change orders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in food-grade manufacturing environments.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and keep projects moving.
- Experience leading crews or serving as a Foreman, Lead Welder, Superintendent, or Supervisor.
- Project Management experience.
- Construction Management experience.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Formal Project Management experience is preferred, but candidates without the specific title may be considered if they have demonstrated equivalent responsibility and experience managing projects, field operations, customers, crews, and resources.
