Full Job Description

Purpose / Scope of Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the overall leadership, safety, inventory integrity, and operational performance of High Desert Milk's warehouse operations. This position oversees the receipt, storage, inventory control, and shipment of finished goods while ensuring inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and efficient warehouse utilization.

The Warehouse Supervisor leads warehouse personnel, establishes performance expectations, and maintains accountability for inventory accuracy through effective controls, reconciliation, cycle counting, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Production, Quality, Logistics, IT, and ERP support teams, the Supervisor ensures warehouse processes and inventory systems remain accurate, reliable, audit-ready, and capable of supporting customer requirements.

Responsibilities/Duties

(inclusive of but not limited to)

Provide daily leadership, coaching, scheduling, and direction for warehouse shipping personnel, inventory personnel, and forklift operators.
Establish, implement, continuously improve, and ensure warehouse standard operating procedures.
Ensure warehouse operations are conducted safely while complying with all OSHA, GMP, food safety, sanitation, and company policies.
Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient warehouse environment.
Coordinate order allocation, picking, staging, and shipping activities with the Sales Liaison to ensure timely and accurate customer shipments.
Optimize warehouse space utilization while maintaining proper product rotation (FIFO), customer-specific requirements, and product traceability.
Conduct employee performance evaluations, provide coaching and development, and administer corrective actions when appropriate.
Lead warehouse continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, customer service, and operational efficiency.

Inventory Management & Control

Maintain ownership and accountability for finished goods inventory accuracy throughout all warehouse locations.
Optimize warehouse space utilization while maintaining proper product rotation (FIFO), customer-specific requirements, and product traceability.
Oversee all inventory transactions (save quality holds/releases), including receipts, transfers, adjustments, shipments within the ERP system.
Direct and oversee daily inventory reconciliation activities, to include spot inventories, identifying discrepancies between physical inventory and ensuring timely reconciliation of all variances in system records.
Investigate inventory discrepancies with Production, Quality, and Warehouse personnel and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Manage inventory workflows involving hold, quarantine, damaged, or non-conforming product.
Review inventory performance metrics and prepare daily, weekly and monthly inventory reports for management.
Maintain and distribute inventory exception reports, including lost inventory reports and warehouse violation reports, ensuring timely follow-up through resolution.

Systems, Compliance & Customer Support

Collaborate with IT, ERP support personnel, and system administrators to resolve warehouse system or inventory issues affecting operational accuracy.
Ensure inventory transactions support full product traceability and regulatory compliance.
Represent warehouse operations during customer audits, regulatory inspections, and internal audits.
Investigate shipping discrepancies in collaboration with Production, Quality Assurance, Transportation, and Customer Service.
Support customer inquiries related to inventory, shipments, and post-shipment documentation.
Ensure warehouse documentation meets all internal, customer, regulatory, and food safety requirements.
Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment when necessary to support warehouse operations or inventory verification.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of warehouse and plant operations.
