Full Job Description

Part‑Time Events & Operations Manager

Beckman Heritage Farms is a family‑owned farm and event venue with strong values rooted in hospitality, community, and guest experience. We are seeking a dynamic, highly organized Events & Operations Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of weddings, special events, and seasonal attractions. This is a hands‑on, on‑site role during our busy season (May–October) with limited, task‑specific remote work in the off‑season. Hours vary monthly based on business needs.
This position reports directly to the owners.

Our venue offers a beautiful, historic farm setting, and the work is fast‑paced, rewarding, and ideal for someone who enjoys creating memorable experiences for guests.

Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of event planning and execution, including logistics, vendor coordination, and on‑site operations
Lead and supervise event‑day staff and support teams
Conduct client tours, communicate event details, and maintain strong client relationships
Assist owners with hiring and onboarding seasonal staff
Oversee venue readiness, cleanliness, and guest experience
Support seasonal attractions (Fall Market, Haunted Hollow, corn maze, etc.)
Coordinate event timelines and ensure seamless operations
Utilize Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PDF tools) for planning, reporting, and documentation
Maintain professional communication with clients, vendors, and staff
Ensure compliance with safety standards and hospitality best practices
Uphold Beckman Heritage Farms’ family‑owned values of honesty, hospitality, and respect

Required Experience & Skills

Leadership experience required (supervising staff or managing operations)
Hands‑on event management experience required (weddings, hospitality, festivals, corporate events, etc.)
Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
Experience communicating with clients about event details preferred
Comfortable learning our quoting process and following pricing guidelines
Hospitality‑focused mindset and strong customer‑service skills
HR experience preferred (interviewing, onboarding, coaching staff)
Proficiency with Windows applications (Zoom, Excel, PDF tools)
Experience with event management software preferred
Budget awareness and ability to support cost‑efficient planning
Candidates without relevant experience will not be considered

This is not an entry‑level role and not a casual “wedding helper” position.

Integrity & Accountability

Accurate documentation of all hours and tasks
Dependable follow‑through with clients, vendors, and staff
Professional communication and conduct
Ability to make decisions within established guidelines
Calm, professional conflict resolution

Physical & Outdoor Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, and move event supplies
Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and uneven terrain
Able to walk the property and stand for extended periods
Willingness to assist with setup and tear‑down when needed
Dedicated cleaning/setup staff are employed, but occasional assistance may be required

Schedule & Hours

Part‑time: Hours vary monthly
Ideal for someone seeking meaningful seasonal or supplemental part‑time work
Many successful candidates hold a full‑time job elsewhere, provided they can reliably work weekends
Busy Season (May–October): Primarily on‑site; weekends required
Occasional weekday tours or events
Off‑Season (November–April): Limited remote tasks + occasional on‑site needs
Event‑day bonuses available

Location Requirement

Local candidates only
Must live within approximately 30 miles (35–40 minutes) of Beckman Heritage Farms
Candidates outside this range will not be considered

Background Checks & Eligibility

Beckman Heritage Farms conducts background checks for all final candidates.
Due to the nature of our events and family‑friendly environment, certain convictions are disqualifying, including:

Child‑related offenses or abuse
Violent felonies
Serious theft or fraud related to prior employment

Candidates must pass a background check to be eligible for employment.
