District Manager – Hardee’s
Westar Foods, Inc., a large franchisee of the Hardee’s restaurant system, operates more than 32 locations throughout Iowa and Nebraska. We are seeking an experienced, results-driven District Manager to lead multiple restaurant locations and develop high-performing management teams.
As a District Manager, you will oversee General Managers and their restaurant teams, ensuring each location delivers strong operational, financial, and people results. This role is ideal for a hands-on multi-unit leader who thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment and knows how to achieve results through developing and supporting others.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop General Managers and restaurant management teams across multiple locations.
- Ensure restaurants consistently deliver excellent Quality, Service, and Cleanliness (QSC) and a positive guest experience.
- Travel regularly between assigned restaurants to monitor operations and ensure compliance with Westar Foods and Hardee’s standards.
- Develop management talent through ongoing coaching, training, performance management, and succession planning.
- Clearly communicate performance expectations, recognize strong performance, and address performance concerns promptly.
- Drive sales, profitability, and operational performance by reviewing restaurant results and implementing action plans when goals are not met.
- Analyze P&L statements, labor, food costs, sales trends, and other key performance indicators.
- Maintain awareness of local market conditions, customer demographics, and competitive activity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, employment practices, food safety standards, sanitation requirements, and applicable laws.
- Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, integrity, and exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of management experience in a multi-unit quick-service restaurant (QSR) environment strongly preferred.
- Proven experience leading and developing General Managers and restaurant management teams.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, including P&L management, budgeting, labor management, scheduling, and business planning.
- Demonstrated ability to improve operational and financial results across multiple locations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Self-motivated with a high sense of urgency and accountability.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Restaurant Management, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent restaurant management experience will be considered.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
