Video Production & Social Media Manager
Gritworks Athletics & I AM GRIT
Bellingham / Burlington, WA | Full-Time | $48,000–$52,000 DOE
About Us
Gritworks Athletics is a sports performance company with training facilities in Bellingham and Burlington, Washington. We develop the whole athlete—building strength, speed, confidence, discipline, resilience, and character that lasts far beyond sport.
I AM GRIT is our growing content, media, and podcast brand built around four values that define the athletes, coaches, leaders, and people we want to impact:
Guts. Resilience. Initiative. Tenacity.
These aren't two disconnected brands.
The training floor creates the stories. I AM GRIT helps tell them to the world.
We're looking for someone who can help us capture those stories and turn them into content people want to watch, share, follow, and come back to.
The Role
We're hiring a Video Production & Social Media Manager to own the day-to-day creative production and social media execution for both Gritworks Athletics and I AM GRIT.
This is not simply a "post content" role.
We want a creator, producer, and storyteller.
Someone who can walk into a training session and recognize the story happening in front of them. Someone who can take a 60-minute podcast conversation and identify the three moments people need to hear. Someone who can turn an idea into a compelling trailer, campaign, athlete feature, YouTube video, or 30-second reel.
You'll work directly with our Marketing Director while collaborating with coaches, athletes, leadership, podcast guests, and other members of the Gritworks team.
Your work will have two primary objectives:
- Help Gritworks Athletics grow enrollment and strengthen our brand locally.
- Help build I AM GRIT into a nationally recognized media brand and voice in athlete development, coaching, leadership, and personal growth.
What You'll OwnVideo Production & Storytelling
- Shoot, edit, and produce short-form and long-form video for Gritworks Athletics and I AM GRIT.
- Capture training sessions, athlete stories, coach features, testimonials, events, interviews, educational content, promotional campaigns, and behind-the-scenes moments.
- Take projects from idea → concept → shoot → edit → final delivery.
- Develop compelling hooks, pacing, music, graphics, sound design, and story structure.
- Create brand trailers, podcast trailers, show intros/outros, promotional videos, campaign launch videos, and other high-impact creative pieces.
- Help establish and maintain a recognizable visual style for both Gritworks Athletics and I AM GRIT.
- Build an organized library of video, photography, podcast, and creative assets for future use.
I AM GRIT Podcast Production
Help us turn I AM GRIT into more than a podcast—we want to build a media platform.
You'll help own the production side of that vision, including:
- Record and produce high-quality podcast episodes for both audio and video distribution.
- Set up and manage cameras, lighting, microphones, audio, and recording workflows.
- Edit full-length podcast episodes with strong pacing, storytelling, graphics, music, and sound.
- Create and continually improve the I AM GRIT podcast intro, outro, show trailer, episode opens, guest introductions, and promotional assets.
- Identify the strongest moments from every conversation and turn them into high-performing short-form clips.
- Produce reels, shorts, teasers, audiograms, quote-driven content, and episode trailers.
- Package episodes for YouTube and podcast platforms with compelling titles, thumbnails, descriptions, and supporting creative.
- Help develop recurring segments, visual formats, and storytelling concepts that make the show recognizable.
- Assist with guest preparation, production planning, and the overall viewer/listener experience.
- Repurpose every long-form episode into a library of content across multiple platforms.
Social Media & Content Distribution
Own the day-to-day social presence for both brands across:
Instagram | YouTube | TikTok | Facebook
Responsibilities include:
- Build and execute a consistent content calendar alongside the Marketing Director.
- Publish and schedule content across platforms.
- Write strong hooks, captions, titles, and calls to action.
- Understand how content should be adapted—not simply reposted—for different platforms.
- Create platform-native Reels, Shorts, TikToks, carousels, stories, and long-form YouTube content.
- Engage with comments and community when appropriate.
- Track reach, engagement, watch time, retention, follower growth, leads, and other key performance indicators.
- Identify what's working, understand why it's working, and produce more of it.
- Identify what's not working and adjust quickly.
- Provide a simple weekly content and performance report to the Marketing Director.
We don't want content created simply because "we need to post today."
We want content with a purpose.
Creative Campaigns & Brand Building
You'll help turn organizational priorities into creative campaigns.
That could include:
- New program launches
- Athlete transformation stories
- Facility promotions
- Enrollment campaigns
- I AM GRIT podcast launches
- Events and community initiatives
- Coach education
- Testimonials
- Brand films
- Seasonal campaigns
- New products and programs
You'll help answer the question:
"What's the story—and what's the most powerful way to tell it?"

You don't need to check every box.
But you do need to be able to show us that you know how to tell a story.
The Person We're Looking ForYou See Stories
Most people see an athlete training.
You notice the athlete who failed the same rep three times before finally getting it.
Most people hear a podcast conversation.
You hear the 45-second moment that could impact 500,000 people.
That's the instinct we're looking for.
You Take Ownership
You don't need someone constantly asking:
"Did we get that filmed?"
"When is that video coming?"
"Did we post today?"
You build systems, communicate proactively, manage deadlines, and keep projects moving.
You're Creative—and Coachable
We want your ideas.
We also need someone who can receive direction, understand the bigger marketing strategy, and execute when the creative direction isn't entirely their own.
You Care About the Details
Audio matters.
Lighting matters.
The first three seconds matter.
The thumbnail matters.
The caption matters.
The final 5% matters.
You're Hungry to Build
I AM GRIT is not a finished media brand.
That's part of the opportunity.
We're looking for someone energized by the idea of helping build something from the ground up—not someone who needs everything already figured out before they can create.
You're Mission-Aligned
Our work is ultimately about people.
Athletes becoming stronger.
Kids developing confidence.
Coaches becoming better leaders.
People learning that difficult things don't have to break them.
If that doesn't mean something to you, this probably isn't the right role.
If it does, we want to see what you can create.
How Success Will Be Measured
This role isn't measured simply by how many pieces of content get posted.
Success will include:
- Consistent, high-quality creative output
- Growth in reach and engagement
- Video watch time and retention
- Audience growth across Gritworks and I AM GRIT
- Growth of the I AM GRIT podcast and YouTube presence
- Content-driven leads and enrollment opportunities
- Successful execution of campaigns and launches
- Strong organization and on-time delivery
- Continued improvement in the quality and consistency of both brands

Professional Development: $500+/year toward courses, tools, conferences, or continued skill development
PTO:
1 week — Year 1+
2 weeks — Year 3+

Future Benefits: Health insurance and retirement contributions are planned as the organization grows.
Schedule: Flexible. We care about ownership, communication, and results more than punching a clock.
Location: Bellingham / Burlington, Washington. This is primarily an on-site creative role because the stories you'll be telling are happening inside our facilities and community.
How to Apply
Send the following to [email protected]:
- Your resume
- A portfolio, website, or video reel showing work you're proud of
- Links to any podcasts, YouTube channels, social accounts, or brands you've helped produce
- 2–3 examples of short-form content you've personally shot and/or edited
- A brief note explaining why Gritworks and I AM GRIT—not simply why you want a content job
Optional—but it will get our attention:
Send us a 30–60 second video telling us who you are, what you love creating, and why this opportunity interests you.
We're not looking for someone who can shoot anything.
We're looking for someone who wants to shoot this.
Someone who believes the stories happening inside Gritworks Athletics deserve to be told—and who wants to help turn I AM GRIT into a movement that reaches far beyond our walls.
