Top Tails of Greensboro is hiring animal lovers for a rewarding, year-round, part-time position providing dog walks and pet-sitting visits throughout Greensboro.
Who We Are Looking For
- People seeking part-time work with hours that vary based on availability and client needs
- Team members who want to provide consistent, high-quality care for dogs, cats, and other small pets
- People who enjoy working independently and being outdoors in different weather conditions
- Applicants who live in Greensboro, NC. This is required for scheduling and client proximity
- Employees who want to be part of a professional team. This is an employee position, not an independent contractor role. We provide training, support, and opportunities for growth
Responsibilities
- Walking dogs and providing exercise and enrichment
- Feeding pets, refreshing water, and cleaning litter boxes
- Administering medications when needed
- Picking up after pets and keeping pet areas tidy
- Following detailed care instructions for each pet and home
- Sending clients thorough visit updates and photos through our mobile app
- Communicating promptly with the Top Tails team
- Participating in occasional team training
- Participating in local marketing activities when interested. These opportunities are optional
Schedule and Availability
We are currently hiring applicants with availability in one or more of the following areas:
- Weekday daytime visits, including mornings and middays
- Evening visits, generally between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
- Weekend visits throughout the day
Candidates with availability across more than one of these time periods may have access to additional hours.
Some holiday availability is required because holidays are among our busiest times.
This is a year-round position. We are not currently hiring for seasonal or summer-only employment.
Requirements
- Experience caring for pets, either personally or professionally, is helpful but not required. Training is provided
- Strong timeliness, communication, and accountability
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to carefully follow written instructions
- Physically able to walk briskly for at least 30 minutes and lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, and rain
- Smartphone with reliable data access and comfort using multiple apps
- Access to a home computer and basic technology proficiency
- Reliable, insured transportation
- Availability to work some holidays
- Minimum six-month commitment
- Ability to pass a background check
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting pay of $13.50 per hour
- 100 percent of client tips, typically adding approximately $2 to $6 per hour
- Paid online and on-the-job training
- Workers’ compensation and liability coverage while working
