Job Summary
We're looking for a Graphic Design Marketing Assistant to support our team in bringing client brands to life across print and digital media. This is the most junior role on our team, but it's a step beyond a first job. We're looking for someone who has already produced real design work, whether through a previous role, internships, or freelance projects, and is ready to take on more. You'll work with mentorship from experienced designers and strategists who will help you grow into a well-rounded creative professional.
Design will be at the center of your day-to-day: creating graphics for social media, websites, email campaigns, and advertising, and producing print work ranging from one-off collateral to long-form publications like booklets and annual reports. You'll also get exposure to the broader marketing work that surrounds great design, including content, campaign reporting, and client strategy sessions. No two days look the same, and that's what makes it exciting.
This is an in-person role based at our Winooski office.
We're also hiring a Marketing Assistant, a generalist role focused on social media, content, and campaign support. If that sounds like a better fit for your background, we encourage you to check out that posting instead.
What You'll Do
- Design graphics for social media, websites, email campaigns, digital advertising, and print collateral such as brochures, signage, and event materials
- Design and lay out long-form print and digital publications, including booklets, annual reports, and multi-page brochures, from initial layout through print-ready files
- Create engaging Reels, Stories, and short-form social content with a strong visual sensibility and an eye for what people actually want to watch and share
- Support brand identity work, including logo refinement, style guides, and brand asset development, under the direction of senior team members
- Assist with the design and build of webpages, landing pages, and website updates using platforms like Wix, WordPress, Shopify, and Hubspot
- Help design and build email marketing campaigns using platforms such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or ActiveCampaign
- Prepare files for print production and help coordinate with printers and vendors
- Maintain organized libraries of brand assets, templates, and design files across client accounts
- Support the management of client social media accounts, including posting content and monitoring engagement
- Pull and organize campaign performance reports and help the team understand how creative is performing
- Help organize projects and keep deliverables on track across multiple clients
- Communicate directly with clients and build trusting relationships
- Contribute creative ideas to campaign strategy alongside senior team members
What We're Looking For
This role is ideal for someone early in their design career who has moved past the basics. You might be coming from your first agency or in-house role, a run of freelance work, or substantial internships. What matters is that you've produced real design work for real audiences and you're ready to grow.
Required:
- 1+ years of design experience through professional work, internships, or freelance projects
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign for multi-page layout, plus Illustrator and Photoshop
- A portfolio of design work, ideally including at least one multi-page or long-form piece
- A strong eye for layout, typography, and color, with attention to visual detail and brand consistency across long documents
- A genuine passion for social media and visual trends, and an instinct for what makes content perform
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
- Comfort juggling multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to pitch in wherever needed
- Basic comfort with data. You don't need to be an analyst, but you should be able to read a report, spot trends, and summarize what the numbers mean
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Visual Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Nice to Have:
- Experience designing annual reports, catalogs, or other publication work
- Experience with motion graphics or video editing tools (After Effects, Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar)
- Experience creating Reels, Stories, TikToks, or other short-form video content
- Photography or photo editing skills
- Familiarity with content management systems, especially Wix
- Experience preparing files for print production and working with print vendors
- Familiarity with Canva for quick-turn social graphics
- Exposure to analytics tools like Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, or email platform reporting
- Internship or coursework in graphic design, marketing, or content creation
What We Offer
The expected pay range for this position is $45,000 - $52,000 per year. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
- Unlimited paid vacation (with a 10-day consecutive cap and manager approval)
- 5 paid sick days per year
- 2 weeks paid family and medical leave
- Workers' compensation coverage
- Additional benefits for full-time employees (details provided during the interview process)
- Investment in your professional development, including training, conferences, certifications, and opportunities to grow your skills on the job
- Mentorship from experienced professionals across design, strategy, and digital
- Hands-on design experience across a diverse client portfolio
- A collaborative, creative work environment in Winooski's vibrant downtown
What Success Looks Like
In your first 90 days, you'll get up to speed on our clients, brand standards, tools, and workflows during a structured introductory period. By six months, you'll be independently producing on-brand design work with minimal revision, taking ownership of sections of larger publication projects, and contributing creative ideas in client strategy conversations. By one year, you'll be a go-to team member trusted with client-facing communication, end-to-end execution of long-form pieces like booklets and annual reports, and design work across multiple accounts.
