The IT Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining, and securing all technology systems throughout the organization. This role provides strategic and hands-on support for employees across manufacturing, warehouse, quality, production, engineering, customer service, finance, sales, and administrative departments.
The IT Manager ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of the Company's entire technology infrastructure, including computer systems, servers, networks, wireless connectivity, audiovisual equipment, manufacturing technology, and surveillance systems. This position is responsible for minimizing downtime, protecting company data, supporting business operations, and driving continuous improvement through technology. This position reports to the CFO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Information Technology Operations
- Manage all day-to-day IT operations across the organization.
- Maintain network infrastructure, internet connectivity, wireless (Wi-Fi) systems, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, and email systems.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, mobile devices, TVs, conference room technology, and other electronic equipment.
- Ensure all employees have the necessary hardware and software to perform their job functions.
- Respond to IT support requests in a timely manner while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Maintain an organized inventory of all IT assets and equipment.
Manufacturing Technology Support
- Support all technology utilized within the manufacturing environment.
- Ensure production equipment connected to the network maintains reliable connectivity.
- Support barcode scanners, label printers, manufacturing workstations, tablets, and production displays.
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to improve manufacturing technology and system reliability.
- Assist with technology implementations that improve manufacturing efficiency.
Video Surveillance & Physical Security
- Manage and maintain the Company's video surveillance (CCTV) system.
- Ensure cameras remain operational and recording properly.
- Maintain video storage and retrieval capabilities.
- Coordinate installation of additional cameras when needed.
- Support access control systems, badge readers, and other physical security technology.
Cybersecurity & Data Protection
- Maintain cybersecurity best practices across the organization.
- Protect company systems against malware, ransomware, phishing, and unauthorized access.
- Manage antivirus software, endpoint protection, firewalls, and security monitoring.
- Ensure regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures are functioning properly.
- Maintain business continuity plans for IT systems.
Infrastructure & Systems Administration
- Maintain company servers, storage systems, cloud services, and virtualization platforms.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate software updates, operating system upgrades, and hardware replacements.
- Ensure high system availability and minimize operational downtime.
Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with IT vendors, software providers, telecommunications companies, and hardware suppliers.
- Obtain competitive quotes for technology purchases.
- Coordinate service agreements and warranty repairs.
- Monitor vendor performance and contract compliance.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Lead technology improvement projects from planning through implementation.
- Recommend new technologies that improve operational efficiency and security.
- Develop IT policies, procedures, and standards.
- Participate in facility expansion or equipment installation projects requiring IT infrastructure.
Compliance
- Maintain compliance with cybersecurity and data privacy best practices.
- Support cGMP requirements related to computerized systems used within manufacturing.
- Maintain documentation for IT procedures, system configurations, licenses, and network architecture.
Training & Support
- Provide technical training to employees as needed.
- Educate employees on cybersecurity awareness and safe technology practices.
- Develop user guides and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for IT systems.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible IT experience.
- Minimum of 3 years managing IT operations in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments and Microsoft 365.
- Experience managing enterprise networks and wireless infrastructure.
- Experience supporting surveillance camera systems.
- Experience with cybersecurity and disaster recovery planning.
- Experience supporting manufacturing software and production environments is highly preferred.
