Position Summary
The Welder / Metal Fabricator fabricates, modifies, assembles, and welds structural steel components used in modular and container homes. This role includes blueprint reading, layout, welding, exterior metal installation, quality inspections, and collaboration with other production departments while supporting continuous improvement.
Essential Responsibilities
· Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.
· Measure, mark, and accurately lay out fabrication and openings.
· Set up and operate MIG welding equipment; aluminum welding experience is a plus.
· Fabricate, weld, grind, and finish steel components for production.
· Install ribbed metal panels, J-channel, corner trim, flashing, and related exterior components.
· Perform quality inspections before, during, and after fabrication.
· Maintain welding procedures and quality standards.
· Safely operate fabrication equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
· Cross-train and assist other production departments as business needs require.
· Identify opportunities to improve quality, safety, efficiency, and production processes.
· Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and dependable attendance.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED.
· 2+ years of welding/fabrication experience preferred.
· Proficient with MIG welding; aluminum welding experience preferred.
· Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
· Experience using measuring and layout tools.
· Strong math, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work on your feet throughout the shift.
· Experience in modular construction, metal buildings, or container fabrication is a plus.

Pay: $18.00 - $29.00 per hour
