Position: Mechanical Assembly Technician
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Work Location: In person - Letha, Idaho
About ATTCO, Inc.:
ATTCO, Inc. is a 4th generation family owned and operated business located in Letha, Idaho. In 1969, our founder Edwin (Chris) Christensen saw a need for a quality, safe lifting device in the manufacturing industry, and the Sky Hook lifting device was born. More than 50 years later, the Sky Hook product line has evolved to include a wide range of small sub-500 lb. manual lifting devices, mobile and stationary lifting bases, under-hook devices, and custom lifting accessories.
Our Sky Hook products are used by manufacturers across the country as a lightweight, straightforward, and simple-to-operate alternative to bulky overhead cranes, cumbersome bridge cranes, and unsuitable engine lifts or cherry pickers. We have been protecting operators and helping prevent lifting injuries for over 50 years, and that remains our primary focus today.
Why We Are Hiring:
We are currently a small shop floor team and are adding a key assembly position to support increased Sky Hook production demand. Final assembly is one of the most important positions in our production flow. This role takes powder coated weldments, machined parts, purchased components, hardware, and inventory-controlled parts, and turns them into finished Sky Hook lifting devices and bases ready for shipment.
The right person will have a direct impact on our product quality, shipping schedule, customer expectations, and ability to continue growing in a controlled and sustainable way.
This is not a slow-paced bench assembly job. We are looking for someone who is mechanically capable, quick with their hands, eager to work hard every day, and able to take ownership of their department in a high-paced, just-in-time manufacturing environment.
Job Description:
Work in concert with a small team of hard working and focused coworkers, each with their own specialty and department, to produce quality Sky Hook lifting equipment in a just-in-time manufacturing environment.
The Mechanical Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling Sky Hook lifting devices and bases from powder coated weldments, machined parts, purchased parts, hardware, and inventory components. This position requires a strong understanding of inventory, assembly order, product models, bills of materials, shop tools, quality standards, and shipping expectations.
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, understands how parts fit together, can learn a wide range of product configurations, and takes pride in producing a clean, consistent, finished product. The right person does not need to come in already knowing our products, but they must be capable of learning quickly, retaining details, and building repeatable efficiency.
This position will receive training and support, but it also requires personal ownership. The assembler must be able to manage their own responsibilities, understand what needs to ship, keep product moving, and meet production expectations without constant supervision.
Job Responsibilities:
· Assemble Sky Hook lifting devices, bases, and related components from powder coated weldments, machined parts, purchased parts, and hardware
· Learn and follow the assembly process for multiple Sky Hook models and configurations
· Understand inventory locations, part usage, hardware requirements, and bills of materials for each unit
· Pull, organize, and prepare parts needed for assembly and shipping
· Use basic shop tools including hammers, wrenches, sockets, drills, hand tools, and measuring tools
· Inspect assembled products for quality, function, fit, finish, and craftsmanship
· Maintain clean, consistent assembly standards across finished products
· Work with inventory, powder coating, machining, welding, and shipping to keep product moving through the shop
· Track the shipping schedule and understand daily production priorities
· Think critically and solve practical assembly problems as they arise
· Maintain an organized assembly area and manage parts in a way that supports efficient production
· Work quickly while maintaining quality and attention to detail
· Take ownership of the assembly department and meet expected production goals
· Support packaging, shipping prep, and other shop tasks as needed

· Attention to detail and pride in workmanship
· Able to inspect work for quality, accuracy, function, and finished-product appearance
· Dependable, on-time, and able to maintain a full 40-hour work week
· Mobile and capable of lifting 50 lbs.
· Capable of working independently while communicating well with a small team
· Able to work under pressure to meet manufacturing and shipping expectations
