About the Role

Under general direction, the Division Manager plans, organizes, and oversees one or more operational units, countywide support programs, or multiple areas of law within a court location. This position is responsible for operational leadership, strategic planning, employee development, customer service, budget oversight, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies, and court procedures.

What You'll Do

Lead and manage complex court operations through subordinate supervisors and professional staff
Develop and implement strategic and operational plans that support the Court's mission and goals
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and exceptional customer service
Build strong partnerships with judicial officers, executive leadership, and justice system agencies
Analyze operational challenges and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery
Monitor performance metrics, workloads, and operational trends to ensure effective resource allocation
Oversee employee performance management, coaching, training, and development
Participate in budget planning, resource management, and fiscal oversight
Lead organizational change initiatives and support implementation of new policies, legislation, and technology solutions
Resolve complex operational, personnel, and customer service issues with professionalism and sound judgment

Minimum Qualifications

Option I
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of equivalent operational management or supervisory experience, preferably in a court environment.

Option II
High school diploma or GED and six years of equivalent operational management or supervisory experience, preferably in a court environment.

Riverside is the fourth largest county in California and the 10th largest in the United States. There are fourteen court facilities spanning 7,300 square miles that serves Riverside’s 2.4 million residents. The courts and its employees hold a unique role in the public sector. Selection Procedures:

Step I: All applications will be reviewed to identify candidates who meet the minimum qualifications; those candidates may be referred to step II in the selection process.

Step II: Those candidates who meet the minimum qualifications may be reviewed by the Subject Matter Expert. Successful candidates may be invited to participate in the oral interview.

Step III: Candidates at this step may be invited to complete an in-house written pass/fail examination to assess their knowledge, skills and abilities for the position; candidates must pass the assessment in order to advance to the oral interview.

Step IV: This step will consist of an oral panel interview (weighted 100%). Those candidates who are successful in the interview may be placed on an eligible list. Placement on an eligible list is not a guarantee of employment.

All candidates will be notified via email of their status at each step of the process.

Additional steps for the selection process may include a drug test, background and reference checks.
