A ROLE BUILT FOR LONG-TERM CAREER GROWTH
We're looking for a long-term, career-minded Child Development Specialist ready to build and own a caseload:
- Part-time scheduling starts at 20 billable hours/week (typically established within 90 days)
- Full-time scheduling is 30 billable hours/week or more (typically established within 120 days) — this is where bonus and benefit eligibility begins
- Top-earning Child Development Specialists typically schedule 40 billable hours/week
- 40+ billable hours/week unlocks the highest bonus potential, and often qualifies for overtime — putting total compensation potential in the $90,000-$105,000 range
Please note: Part-time scheduling (20-29 billable hours/week) is not eligible for our bonus structure or benefits. Bonuses and benefits are available once you reach full-time scheduling of 30+ billable hours/week, with the highest earning potential at 40 billable hours/week. This is potential, not a guarantee — but it's a real, achievable outcome for clinicians who build and sustain a full-time caseload with us.
Are you an SLPA, COTA, or PTA? Working as a Child Development Specialist, your earning potential is even higher.
═══════════════════════════════════════
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're seeking a skilled, Spanish-speaking Child Development Specialist with proven, prior experience in early intervention services funded by regional centers. You'll conduct comprehensive developmental assessments using the DAYC-2 (Developmental Assessment of Young Children, Second Edition) and provide evidence-based intervention services to children birth to three years old in their natural environments — homes, parks, daycares — where therapy is most effective and outcomes are most profound.
This isn't clinic-based work. This is meaningful intervention within a child's ecosystem, delivering services where children learn, play, and grow every day.
We are looking for someone available to start beginning of August 2026!

WHO THRIVES IN THIS ROLE
We're looking for a long-term, career-minded Child Development Specialist — someone building a career, not just a job. This role is built for a specific kind of clinician:
- Highly organized and detail-oriented — truly Type A
- Fast and responsive in your communication
- Impeccable follow-through — every time
- 100% all-in on the families and caseload you serve
If you show up reliably, communicate clearly and promptly, and take real ownership of your caseload, you'll thrive here. This is not a role for a casual side-gig mindset — we're looking for a committed, long-term team member.
═══════════════════════════════════════
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive developmental assessments using the DAYC-2 protocol
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results
- Provide 60-minute intervention sessions in children's natural environments
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports for regional center compliance
- Build and sustain a full caseload over time
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS — WHERE TOP EARNING MEETS TOP PURPOSE
Hourly Reimbursement Rates:
- Clinical (Billable) Time: $26-$30 per hour based on clinical experience and degree level
- Higher rates available for licensed COTA, PTA, or SLPA professionals performing as Child Development Specialists
- Administrative and Drive Time: $20 per hour
- Part-time scheduling (20-29 billable hours/week) is paid at the clinical + administrative/drive time rates above and is not eligible for bonuses or benefits
Bonus Structure — Full-Time Only (30+ Billable Hours/Week Required for Eligibility):
Bonuses are paid per billable hour delivered, per 2-week pay period:
Billable Hours (2-Week Period)Bonus50-59 hours+$10/billable hour60-69 hours+$15/billable hour70+ hours+$20/billable hour
What is the $46-$60/billable hour figure? This is a global fee-for-service equivalency — it's calculated by taking your total pay (billable clinical pay + administrative/drive time pay + bonus pay) over a pay period and dividing it by your total billable hours delivered. It's not a separate rate; it's how all forms of pay blend together, per billable hour, once you're scheduling full-time and hitting bonus tiers.
Caseload Build & Full-Time Earning Potential:
- Part-Time (20-29 billable hours/week, typically established within 90 days): Clinical + administrative/drive time pay; not eligible for bonuses or benefits
- Full-Time (30+ billable hours/week, typically established within 120 days): Bonus and benefit eligibility begins — up to $82,500 annually plus PTO and benefits
- High Producers (35+ billable hours/week): Up to $105,000 annually plus PTO and benefits once bonus tiers are factored in
- Top Earners / Overtime Eligible (40 billable hours/week): Our top-earning Child Development Specialists schedule at this level, often qualifying for overtime, with total compensation reaching $90,000-$105,000
Real Example: Based on the $26/hour clinical rate, a Child Development Specialist averaging 35 billable hours per week for 50 weeks — and qualifying for the top bonus tier — could make up to $98,000 plus PTO, paid holidays, benefits, and more!
Important: These figures assume full-time scheduling (30+ billable hours/week), with the highest figures reflecting our top earners at 40 billable hours/week. Our bonus structure is specifically designed around full-time productivity — part-time scheduling (20-29 billable hours/week) does not qualify for bonuses or benefits. This is potential, not a guarantee.
SLPA, COTA, or PTA credential? Your earning potential as a Child Development Specialist is even higher than the rates shown above.

COMPREHENSIVE BENEFITS INCLUDE
- Up to 90% employer-paid healthcare premium coverage

Salary Transparency (CA Pay Transparency Act - SB 1162): The compensation for this position includes hourly rates of $26-$30 for clinical time based on experience and education level, with higher rates available for licensed therapy assistants (SLPA, COTA, PTA). Administrative and drive time is compensated at $20 per hour. Part-time scheduling (20-29 billable hours/week) is paid at these rates and is not eligible for bonuses or benefits. Full-time scheduling (30+ billable hours/week) is eligible for a bonus structure that adds $10-$20 per billable hour for clinicians delivering 50+ billable hours in a 2-week pay period, with top-earning Child Development Specialists typically scheduling 40 billable hours/week. The commonly cited $46-$60 per billable hour figure is a global fee-for-service equivalency: total pay (clinical, administrative/drive time, and bonus pay combined) divided by total billable hours delivered. These bonus-driven earning figures assume full-time scheduling; annual earnings up to $98,000+ and total compensation of $90,000-$105,000 reflect potential at full-time caseload levels (30-40 billable hours/week) and are not guaranteed. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including but not limited to: caseload volume, service delivery productivity, individual qualifications, DAYC-2 expertise, bilingual skills, and credentials.
