Full Job Description

Established employment-based immigration law firm is seeking an Immigration Paralegal to lead a team supporting a broad range of employment-based immigration matters. This role is ideal for a seasoned immigration paralegal professional with strong case management experience, deep knowledge of employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa processes, and the ability to supervise staff in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. This position requires on-site work in San Jose, CA.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise and provide day-to-day direction to junior immigration staff and paralegals
Serve as a liaison between the case team and attorneys and firm leadership
Manage and oversee a high-volume caseload involving employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant matters
Review case strategy, analyze supporting documents, and prepare applications and petitions for filing with appropriate government agencies
Draft petitions, applications, and support letters demonstrating eligibility for immigration benefits
Communicate regularly with clients and foreign nationals regarding case status, procedures, and processing issues
Troubleshoot case concerns, support intake, and help establish case strategy
Monitor case progress through case management and billing systems
Prioritize and assign work, manage team productivity, and ensure deadlines are met
Assist with case review, reporting, and client billing under attorney supervision
Promote best practices, process improvement, and strong client service across the team
Collaborate closely with attorneys and staff in an on-site team environment

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree, or Paralegal Certificate preferred
5+ years of employment-based immigration experience in a law firm or similar setting
Strong knowledge of procedural requirements for a variety of employment-based nonimmigrant visas
Prior experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is preferred
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and client service orientation
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience with case management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office, including Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Collaborative mindset and ability to contribute to a positive team culture
