IMPORTANT: Indian Cooking Experience Required

This role requires strong, hands-on experience in Indian cuisine.
Candidates without professional Indian cooking experience will not be considered.

About Healthy Tiffin

Healthy Tiffin is a rapidly scaling premium Indian meal delivery brand serving the Bay Area. We operate a large commercial production kitchen focused on fresh, organic, low-oil, preservative-free meals inspired by traditional Indian cooking and Ayurvedic principles.

We are looking for a disciplined, high-accountability Head Chef who can lead from the front, enforce standards, and run a precision-driven kitchen.

What This Role Demands

You will:

Lead and manage a team of chefs, line cooks, prep staff, and packaging teams
Enforce strict adherence to standardized Indian recipes
Conduct daily taste testing and batch verification
Ensure precision in quantity, consistency, and presentation
Oversee packaging accuracy and labeling control
Build schedules aligned with forecasted production volumes
Maintain food safety compliance at the highest level
Reduce waste and control food cost targets
Train and develop kitchen staff with discipline and clarity
Standardize menus for consistency and scalability while innovating new health-forward Indian recipes aligned with clean, low-oil, health inspired cooking principles
Enforce absolute kitchen cleanliness standards — zero tolerance for poor sanitation, disorganized workstations, improper storage, or hygiene lapses. Cleanliness is non-negotiable and must be maintained at all times.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be on the floor daily.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

10+ years professional kitchen experience
3+ years leading teams in high-volume production environments
Strong professional experience in Indian cuisine (regional depth preferred)
Experience cooking non vegetarian, vegetarian and plant-forward menus
ServSafe Certified
Proven ability to manage 30+ kitchen staff
Experience with batch production, scaling recipes, and portion control systems

Strongly Preferred

Knowledge of healthy cooking methods (low oil, clean-label production)
Understanding of Ayurvedic cooking principles
Experience in meal prep, catering production, or cloud kitchens
Familiarity with HACCP systems and compliance documentation
Experience building or refining scalable menus

Compensation

$90,000 – $120,000 DOE
