Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Process Engineer to support the development, implementation, documentation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for electromechanical components.
The ideal candidate will provide technical support to production, assist with New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, support First Article Inspection (FAI) preparation, maintain manufacturing documentation, and help monitor process performance to ensure product quality, efficiency, and compliance with customer and engineering requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to develop experience in manufacturing engineering within a precision manufacturing and aerospace-related environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing processes.
- Create and maintain work instructions, manufacturing routers, process sheets, and visual aids.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and evaluate product manufacturability.
- Assist with First Article Inspection (FAI) activities in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Support the review and implementation of engineering changes.
- Provide technical support to production during manufacturing and process-related issues.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Support the development and maintenance of Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and inspection instructions.
- Monitor process performance and identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, and process variation.
- Support risk assessment and process improvement activities.
- Maintain product identification and traceability requirements.
- Support internal, customer, and certification audits.
- Ensure manufacturing documentation is accurate, current, and properly controlled.
- Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Production, Purchasing, Planning, and Warehouse teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- 0–3 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, quality engineering, or a related technical field.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and process documentation.
- Basic knowledge of inspection and measurement equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, electromechanical, or precision manufacturing.
- Basic knowledge of GD&T.
- Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9102 requirements.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems.
- Experience with root cause analysis tools such as 5 Why and Fishbone Diagram.
- Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams.
- Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably JobBOSS.
