The Turek Clinic is a globally recognized male fertility and sexual health practice. Our physicians perform microsurgical and reconstructive procedures that patients travel across the country and internationally to receive. We operate cash-pay concierge clinics in San Francisco and Beverly Hills.
We are hiring a Licensed Vocational Nurse for our San Francisco clinic. This role alternates between in-clinic weeks and remote weeks, roughly a 50/50 split. It is a rare combination in clinical work: real hands-on procedure experience, paired with a schedule that gives you half your month working from home, with no nights, no weekends, and major holidays off.
We are looking for a nurse who is comfortable in a procedure room, anticipates what a case needs without being asked, and takes ownership of the patient from pre-op through recovery.
THE SURGICAL WORK
You will support procedures including vasectomy, vasectomy reversal, testicular sperm aspiration (TESA), micro-TESE, testicular biopsy, and sperm retrieval performed alongside partner IVF cycles.
Day to day this means:
- Setting up and turning over procedure rooms, including instrument readiness and sterile field setup
- Assisting the physician directly during procedures
- Handling, labeling, and processing specimens, including time-sensitive andrology specimens
- Preparing patients pre-procedure and managing post-procedure instructions, wound care guidance, and recovery checks
- Maintaining instrument, supply, and equipment readiness so cases are never delayed
- Traveling to off-site surgical centers and occasionally to our Beverly Hills clinic for cases
CLINICAL CARE IN CLINIC
- Vitals, BMI, assessments, and rooming
- Assisting with exams and in-office diagnostics
- Specimen collection and basic laboratory testing
- Keeping exam rooms clean, stocked, and equipment properly maintained
- Patient education on procedures, care plans, and follow-up
REMOTE WEEKS: CONTINUITY OF CARE
Remote weeks are how we keep cases moving:
- Pre-operative preparation, chart build, and confirming records are complete before a case
- Post-operative follow-up calls and recovery monitoring
- Triaging patient calls and messages, escalating clinically when it matters
- Coordinating with partner IVF clinics on timing-sensitive retrieval cases
- Confirming appointments and communicating pre and post-visit instructions
- Documentation and HIPAA compliance from a private home workspace
The split may shift over time based on surgical volume and patient needs, so flexibility is essential.
TEAM AND FACILITY SUPPORT
- Monitor patient flow and keep the clinic running efficiently
- Train and support new clinical staff
- Collaborate with providers and administrative staff to improve workflows
- Uphold infection control, sterile technique, and safety standards at all times
QUALIFICATIONS
- Active LVN license in the State of California (Required)
- CPR certification (Required)
- Minimum 2 years in a clinical role, with hands-on procedure or surgical assisting experience (Required)
- Working knowledge of sterile technique and specimen handling
- EMR experience
- Ability to work on-site in San Francisco during clinic weeks and to travel to off-site surgical centers (Required)
- A private, quiet home workspace suitable for confidential patient calls, with reliable high-speed internet (Required for remote weeks)
- Type a minimum of 65 WPM and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs
- Urology, fertility, andrology, or operating room experience is a strong plus
