Full Job Description

Overview
Bevill Vineyard Management LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Analyst / Human Resources Assistant to support payroll, human resources, compliance, and general office operations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, assisting with payroll and benefits administration, supporting HR paperwork, and helping ensure compliance with California and federal labor requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong data entry and Excel skills, excellent communication abilities, professional phone etiquette, and a positive, can-do attitude. This position requires accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment.

Duties

Process weekly payroll, including reviewing timecards, entering payroll data, auditing paystubs, and preparing payroll reports
Maintain accurate employee records and assist with new hire, termination, wage update, and employment verification paperwork
Support HR administration, including employee files, benefits coordination, health insurance updates, and compliance documentation
Track and maintain H-2A employee records, hours, eligibility spreadsheets, and related payroll/HR documentation
Assist with safety and compliance records, including OSHA forms, training logs, checklists, audits, and required reports
Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, reports, correspondence, and other administrative documents
Provide general office support, including phone coverage, filing, copying, mailing, and special projects as needed
Assist with seasonal harvest-related payroll and crew documentation

Skills

2–3 years of payroll and/or human resources experience required
Strong Excel skills required, including working with spreadsheets, reports, formulas, and accurate data entry
Experience with QuickBooks preferred
High school diploma or Associate degree preferred
Strong math, organization, and attention-to-detail skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle employee information professionally
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional phone etiquette and experience with multi-line phone systems preferred
Ability to learn new software, systems, and apps quickly
Spanish language skills highly preferred
Understanding of governmental regulations related to payroll processing.
Ability to analyze financial data effectively; strong organizational skills for account reconciliation and analysis tasks. This role is ideal for motivated professionals eager to develop their expertise in payroll processing combined with human resource support within a collaborative environment!

Pay: $28.00 - $33.50 per hour
