About Latitude
Latitude is a globally-ranked legal services company that specializes in directly employing and providing former BigLaw attorneys, in-house counsel, and other legal professionals to legal departments and law firms. We provide practice-specific contract attorneys who have served as associates, counsel, and partners in Am Law firms, leading boutiques, and/or as in-house counsel in large corporate legal departments. We also assist many of our clients with permanent positions, including general counsel searches. Our clients range from Fortune Global 500 companies and Global 100 law firms to high-growth privately-held companies, major non-profits, government entities, and boutique law firms.
Latitude Partners are all former senior lawyers at law firms or legal departments, and have extensive community ties, practice experience and professional relationships. Latitude has offices in multiple cities across the United States and more than 5,000 attorneys in our talent pool (including attorneys in all 50 states and numerous other countries). We are globally ranked by Chambers & Partners.
The Role
Latitude is seeking highly entrepreneurial attorneys to join our team as partner-owners (equity partners) who will help us further expand our footprint across the U.S. This is not a traditional legal role. Instead, it’s an opportunity to build your own business within the Latitude platform, develop client relationships, and be directly responsible for your own success – without practicing law. If you are a successful attorney who enjoys developing client relationships, building a book of business, and being highly responsive to your clients, but you are less energized by practicing law than you once were, then this may be an ideal role for you.
As a Partner, you’ll co-own a Latitude operating company with its own P&L. With national infrastructure, capital, and a proven model, you’ll be given resources and playbooks that will enable you to grow your business your own way – without having to invest your own capital. Latitude Partners have significant autonomy, schedule flexibility, and a family-friendly schedule. You can structure your workday and work remotely if you choose.
But make no mistake: success in this performance-based, executive, client service role requires full-time professional focus. Practicing law on the side or managing other work commitments is incompatible with the demanding expectations and potential of this opportunity.
What Makes a Successful Partner:
1. Absolute Dedication to Getting It Right
Our clients include some of the largest, most successful companies and law firms in the world — from Fortune Global 500 corporations to elite boutiques, Am Law 100 and 200 firms, and high-growth companies. Latitude clients – which are typically CLOs, GCs, DGCs or other senior in-house counsel or law firm partners - expect precisely matched talent, and the most successful Partners are phenomenal listeners who obsess over finding the right fit and ensuring that the both the client and talent we provide are highly satisfied.
2. Extreme Ownership and Responsiveness
As a Partner you must take full responsibility for the client experience, responding with urgency and focus as would be expected of a highly responsive law firm partner, including outside standard hours when necessary. Latitude’s value is grounded in our status as a trusted advisor, and that trust is earned by those who are highly discreet, take full ownership of every engagement and are dedicated to ensuring their clients needs are swiftly satisfied.
3. Relentless Drive to Build and Sell
You must thrive on business development — connecting with many decision-makers, talking about Latitude, and putting yourself out there. Having a strong legal network, especially among decision-makers at law firms and legal departments, can significantly accelerate your success.
