Job Description

Represent clients before the IRS and California taxing authorities.
Handle federal and state tax audits, examinations, appeals, and administrative proceedings.
Assist with tax controversy matters including collections, Offers in Compromise, installment agreements, and Collection Due Process hearings.
Support tax litigation matters, including U.S. Tax Court proceedings.
Advise clients on tax planning, business structuring, entity formation, and transactional matters.
Research complex federal and state tax issues and prepare legal memoranda.
Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, settlement proposals, and client communications.
Collaborate closely with senior attorneys while gradually managing your own matters.
Develop trusted relationships with sophisticated business and individual clients.
Participate in continuing legal education and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
2+ years of tax law experience in a law firm or similar legal environment.
Experience handling federal and/or state tax controversy matters.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal and client communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving.
Experience representing clients before the IRS or state taxing authorities is preferred.
California Bar admission is preferred but not required.
