Full Job Description

Nuvia Water Technologies | Home Depot Water Quality Program

Employment type: Full-time, W-2 employee
Classification: Outside sales; exempt, if applicable under California law
Work location: Field-based throughout Orange County, California
Compensation: Commission-based; estimated annual earnings of $75,000–$180,000

Nuvia Water Technologies is seeking an experienced outside sales professional to conduct scheduled in-home water-quality consultations. This position focuses on educating homeowners, recommending appropriate water-treatment products, and completing sales agreements.

The position requires regular travel throughout the assigned territory. The employee is expected to spend more than 50% of working time away from Nuvia’s offices and other company business locations, conducting sales activities and obtaining customer contracts.

What we provide

Company-scheduled in-home appointments, with appointment volume varying by customer demand, territory, season, and cancellations
Whole-home water-filtration and drinking-water products
A written commission plan explaining commission rates, when commissions are earned and paid, and any applicable cancellation or chargeback provisions
Performance-based bonus opportunities
Product, sales, financing, compliance, and water-testing training
Ongoing sales and operational support
Reimbursement of necessary and reasonable business expenses in accordance with company policy and California law

No particular number of appointments, sales, commissions, or earnings is guaranteed.

Responsibilities

Travel to and conduct in-home water-quality consultations
Perform water testing using company-approved procedures
Educate homeowners about water-quality conditions and available treatment options
Recommend products based on customer needs
Prepare and accurately complete sales, financing, and related documentation
Follow applicable consumer-protection, financing, cancellation, privacy, and home-improvement sales requirements
Request referrals and maintain appropriate customer follow-up
Represent Nuvia Water Technologies accurately, professionally, and ethically
Maintain required licenses or registrations, including California Home Improvement Salesperson registration if applicable

Compensation

This is a commission-based outside-sales position.

Good-faith estimated annual commission earnings range: $75,000–$180,000
Performance bonuses may also be available
Actual compensation depends on sales results and the terms of the written commission agreement
There is no stated commission cap

Before beginning commissioned work, the employee will receive a written commission agreement describing how commissions are calculated, earned, credited, adjusted, and paid. The agreement will also address customer cancellations, financing denials, returns, chargebacks, and commissions following separation from employment.

The stated earnings range is an estimate, not a promise or guarantee.

Qualifications

Two or more years of successful in-home or outside-sales experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to communicate product value and complete consumer sales
Strong presentation, listening, organizational, and documentation skills
Ability to travel to customer homes throughout the assigned territory
Ability to work evenings and weekends when appointments require
Valid driver’s license and legally required automobile insurance if driving is an essential job function
Current California Home Improvement Salesperson registration, or ability to obtain it before performing activities that require registration

Relevant experience may include water treatment, HVAC, solar, windows and doors, roofing, remodeling, or other direct-to-consumer sales.

Transportation and expenses

Regular travel is an essential function of this position. Employees using a personal vehicle for authorized business travel will be reimbursed for necessary and reasonable business-use expenses under company policy and California law. Other required business expenses will also be reimbursed in accordance with applicable law.

Conditional Offer and Background Check

Any offer of employment is conditional upon completion of a background check conducted after a conditional offer has been made, as permitted by applicable federal, state, and local law. Depending on the position’s requirements, screening may include verification of employment history, a motor-vehicle record review, and a criminal-history check. Separate notice and authorization documents will be provided when required.

Criminal history will not automatically disqualify an applicant. Nuvia Water Technologies will consider only legally permissible, job-related information and will conduct any required individualized assessment, notice, and review process before making an adverse employment decision.

Employment is also contingent upon obtaining and maintaining any license or registration required for the position, including California Home Improvement Salesperson registration, if applicable. That registration process may require fingerprinting and a criminal-history review administered by the Contractors State License Board.
