The Production Manager – Mobile is responsible for the overall production management of the 100 and 200 units. This position requires extensive use and application of engineering and plant operating principles and concepts. This role will be the liaison between PMC and embedded multi-plant management. The expectation is to work as a team with embedded personnel to facilitate smooth operations, proper and efficient maintenance, quality via lab testing, a healthy and safe work place, a clean environment, and on-time logistical loading and shipping.
This person will work very closely with the PMC senior process engineer, manage the other PMC process engineer, and coordinate with embedded multi-plant personnel on-site to ensure plant goals are met, including embedded operations, lab, HES, maintenance, and logistics manager along with plant manager.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Production
- Analyzes labor utilization and helps to ensure effective use of manpower to minimize overtime
- Owner and accountable for all plant production
- Achieve actual production to meet or exceed demand plan and all orders are on time
- Assures raw material availability based on production schedule
- Available off hours to troubleshoot production/quality issues as needed
- Provide safety leadership for the production units
Training
- Provides necessary training required by law and the company
- Ability to embrace and promote change
- Ability to teach operators and forepersons to assume responsibility
- Assures completion of scheduled training
Quality
- Drives continuous improvement in the process by using engineering tools
- Makes suggestions for improvement to operations
- Track and improved KPIs (OAU, first pass quality, yield, etc)
Maintenance
- Ensures preventative maintenance tasks are done on time and in compliance with the PM schedule
- Departmental shutdowns are scheduled and required tasks are completed
- Daily equipment inspections are completed
- Supports and develops capital planning objectives
- Provides input to embedded personnel regarding necessary maintenance tasks
Inventory Management
- Minimizes working capital by managing raw material and finished goods inventory levels per the plant priorities
- Appropriate inventory level defined and maintained for partials and scraps
- Inputs daily production inputs weekday every morning into Oracle
- Conducts all inventory counts and adjustments. Review and explain material usage variances vs BOM
Procedural Documentation
- ISO compliance: follows documented procedures, ensures control sheets are accurate and filled out by operators
- Write and update operating procedures

Education, Training, and Experience Required
· BS Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
· Minimum of 7 years’ experience, preferably in a chemical or petrochemical plant environment; preference is 10+ years’ experience
· Experience with highly hazardous chemical processes, such as handling chlorine
· Management and/or leadership experience, leading teams without direct supervision
· Experience with process safety management (PSM), specifically process hazard analyses (PHA), management of change (MOC), and continuous improvement through incident investigations and root cause determination
