POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President of Finance is the senior finance executive for Libera, responsible for leading financial strategy, planning, controls, and business performance for a growth-stage, government-focused SaaS company at approximately $10M in annual recurring revenue.
This FULL-TIME, FULLY REMOTE role partners closely with the CEO and leadership team to scale the business with discipline, improve visibility into performance, support strategic investments, and build the financial foundation required for the next phase of growth. The Vice President of Finance will bring strong command of SaaS economics and forecasting, while operating effectively in Libera’s public-sector environment serving vocational rehabilitation agencies, human services programs, nonprofit organizations, and community partners. The role also includes hands-on leadership of Libera’s HR function, ensuring payroll, benefits, and corporate policy administration are fully integrated into the company’s financial, compliance, and operational framework.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Finance & Business Performance
· Lead company-wide financial planning, including annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, and scenario modeling for a growth-stage SaaS business with approximately $10M ARR.
· Establish and monitor core SaaS metrics such as ARR, net revenue retention, gross margin, CAC efficiency, bookings, backlog, implementation economics, and cash performance to improve decision-making.
· Partner with the CEO and executive team on operational finance, pricing, resource allocation, organizational scaling, product investment, human resources and strategic initiatives that support sustainable growth.
· Improve financial visibility and operating discipline through recommendation, selection and implementation of new financial / ERP system, KPI dashboards, performance reviews, variance analysis, and proactive recommendations to optimize profitability and cash generation.
Finance Operations, Revenue Management & Commercial Support
· Oversee the finance function end-to-end, including automation of accounting, monthly close, cash management, audit coordination, internal controls, and financial reporting.
· Strengthen revenue operations by improving quote-to-cash processes, contract review, revenue recognition, invoicing accuracy, collections, and renewal visibility across Libera’s public-sector SaaS agreements.
· Support commercial execution through pricing strategy, deal review, RFP financial support, contract economics, and partnership with sales, customer success, and implementation leaders.
· Build scalable financial processes and systems that support growth, multi-entity complexity if needed, acquisition integration readiness, and increasingly sophisticated board and investor reporting.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
· Ensure financial and operational compliance with software revenue recognition standards, public-sector contracting requirements, audit expectations, and internal control practices appropriate for a GovTech SaaS company.
· Provide executive and board-level reporting on business performance, financial risks, cash outlook, operating leverage, and strategic tradeoffs.
· Partner cross-functionally on risk management related to security, accessibility, vendor obligations, customer commitments, and growth initiatives in a government-grade operating environment.
· Oversee business insurance including renewals, coverage adequacy, claims coordination, and vendor relationships. Help prepare the business for its next stage of scale, including stronger financial infrastructure, diligence readiness, and disciplined support for strategic transactions or capital events if applicable.
Human Resources, Payroll & Corporate Policies
- Lead HR administration, including payroll oversight, benefits management, health insurance, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Develop and maintain corporate policies aligned with regulatory requirements, audit expectations, and organizational needs.
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, compensation frameworks, and organizational structure to support growth and operational efficiency.
- Ensure HR practices align with public‑sector contracting requirements, security expectations, and compliance standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience: 10-12+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including senior finance roles in SaaS, GovTech, or software-enabled public-sector businesses; SVP, Vice President, CFO or top finance leader experience in a growth-stage environment is strongly preferred.
· SaaS Finance Leadership: Deep understanding of recurring revenue models, SaaS forecasting, revenue recognition, gross margin management, and operating metrics used to manage a growth oriented $10M+ ARR software business.
· Public-Sector and Commercial Acumen: Strong familiarity with government procurement, multiyear contracts, implementation economics, and the financial realities of selling to agencies, nonprofit organizations, and regulated programs.
· Audit: Strong understanding and execution of annual financial audit, annual NIST 800-53 audit and annual 409A company valuation for Board.
· HR and Policy Oversight: Experience overseeing payroll, benefits, corporate policies, and insurance programs in a regulated or audit‑heavy environment.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required; MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced financial credential preferred.
