Your Role

Our beautiful office-based surgery center is expanding its clinical team and seeks a hardworking, professional, and dedicated Surgical Nurse! We are looking for a highly proficient nurse who can round out our OR team to circulate, recover and scrub in plastic surgery cases (face and body). Beyond possessing solid nursing and surgical-assist skills, the ideal candidate for this position is a self starter, hard working, empathetic and willing to deliver concierge-level care to patients and their families.

Here You will Get To

Conduct pre-operative care appointments – provide detailed instruction, send prescriptions, complete medical reconciliation, etc.
Ensure the OR is clean, stocked, and ready for surgery
Assist during surgery – “scrub” into cases (surgical tech – first assist)
Circulate in OR during surgical cases - Preserve the sterile environment – prepare patients on the day of surgery
Work with other nurses to prepare patients for surgery and aiding in post-op recovery, provide detailed discharge instructions
Conduct post-operative care appointments – provide patients with comfort and reassurance - assist with suture/drain/cast removal – correspond with patients/families via telephone

About You

Has an active NY Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) registration
Has a minimum of 3 years clinical experience
Responsible & Timely
Possesses a BLS certification
Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational, interpersonal skills and ability to work collaborative from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds
High level patient interaction skills and the ability to build and sustain trusted relationships both internally and externally

A bachelor’s degree
ACLS & PALS Certified
Experience in Plastic Surgery

This is a per-diem position. The practice is open Monday through Friday from 7am – 7pm. Your hours will be set in advance but may vary based on the practice’s staffing needs.
