Job Title: Fleet Maintenance Manager
Pay Range: $100,000-$135,000 (including potential bonuses)
Job Summary: As the Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing ALL aspects of maintenance and repair operations for our diverse fleet of buses and vehicles at our Thousand Oaks location. Your primary objective will be to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our entire fleet through hands on management of all mechanics and vehicles. You will lead a team of mechanics and technicians, establish maintenance procedures, and implement best practices to minimize downtime and maximize vehicle availability.
Responsibilities:
Manage Fleet Maintenance Team:
- Supervise and support a team of mechanics and technicians
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to ensure a high level of technical expertise and productivity.
- Oversee scheduling, assignments, and performance evaluations for the maintenance team across all locations.
Fleet Maintenance Operations:
- Develop, implement, and execute a comprehensive maintenance program for all vehicles, including preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs across all locations.
- Establish and enforce maintenance standards, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinate with operations and dispatch teams to prioritize repairs and address any breakdowns or emergencies.
Inventory and Parts Management:
- Work with Parts Department to manage and approve inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance and repairs
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the availability of quality parts at competitive prices.
- Implement efficient inventory control systems to track parts usage, minimize waste, and optimize costs
- Ensure that fraud or fraudulent practices are mitigated and eliminated from staff and vendors.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and safety standards at each location.
- Lead CHP, DOT, and other regulatory inspections and ensure that a satisfactory rating is received for each yard and each vehicle.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, including work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance histories at each location.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance costs, and KPIs to the executive team.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- 10+ Years in Heavy Duty Maintenance Experience
- 5+ Years in Team Management
- CDL A or CDL B preferred (but not required)
