Full Job Description

Business Analyst – SharePoint

We are hiring a Business Analyst with strong Microsoft SharePoint Online expertise to support an enterprise-wide migration of files from traditional network file shares to Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive. This position will support our client in the CHelsea, MA area.

The Business Analyst will assess business processes, applications, security requirements, and user needs to help define SharePoint models that support current and future business and functional requirements.

This is a hybrid position (1 day / week in office) in Chelsea MA - Candidates must be able to reliably commute to this location.

Please note: No C2C, Subcontracting or Visa Sponsorship of any kind is available for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze existing network file shares, security groups, permissions, and access requirements.
Review project documentation and artifacts in preparation for business unit interviews.
Develop interview topics and questions and conduct structured interviews with business and technical subject matter experts.
Identify and document current processes, use cases, and business requirements associated with personal and shared network drives.
Document interview findings, obtain stakeholder feedback, and develop comprehensive requirements and process documentation.
Identify applications that currently read from or write to network shares and document associated business use cases.
Develop and maintain business analysis artifacts, including:
- Use cases
- Requirements documents
- Application inventories
- Business process models
- SharePoint site and information models
Participate in requirements reviews, solution design sessions, project status meetings, and stakeholder presentations.
Evaluate proposed SharePoint solutions, identify potential issues, gather feedback, and revise requirements and design artifacts as needed.
Create and maintain project documentation within SharePoint.
Participate in the development of SharePoint solution options and provide recommendations and rationale.
Develop a high-level SharePoint security group model in coordination with information security stakeholders.
Assist with development of an enterprise architecture for SharePoint sites supporting file storage.
Review and update SharePoint governance documentation.
Present findings, recommendations, and proposed SharePoint models to project stakeholders and senior management.
Use Jira to document user stories, use cases, requirements, and project tasks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of Business Analyst experience with strong business and systems analysis skills.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online.
2+ years of SharePoint experience in an enterprise environment.
Experience migrating files from network/shared drives to SharePoint Online.
Strong experience gathering, analyzing, developing, and documenting business requirements.
Experience developing and maintaining:
- Use cases
- Business process models
- Requirements documentation
- Solution/design artifacts
- SharePoint information/site models
Strong understanding of business process analysis and modeling.
Experience analyzing application dependencies and identifying applications that access shared file systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and information-processing skills.
Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements, use cases, and functional documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Exceptional documentation and listening skills.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working effectively in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
Good judgment and discretion when working with sensitive business or technical information.
Proficiency with Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint.
Experience with Jira is preferred.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Pay $60 - $64.30 / hour W2 depending on experience
