Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Technical Content Writer to craft clear, engaging, and accurate technical documentation and content. In this role, you will translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for diverse audiences, ensuring consistency and quality across all deliverables. Your storytelling skills will help convey technical information compellingly, supporting our mission to educate and inform users effectively. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to impactful content that drives understanding and engagement.

Duties

Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, guides, FAQs, and tutorials aligned with editorial guidelines and style standards such as AP style and the Chicago Manual of Style
Conduct thorough research to gather accurate information from subject matter experts, ensuring content is factually correct and up-to-date
Proofread and copy edit all content for clarity, grammar, consistency, and adherence to editorial standards
Manage multiple editorial projects simultaneously, coordinating deadlines and deliverables through editorial project management tools
Utilize content management systems to organize, update, and publish content efficiently across platforms
Apply storytelling techniques to make technical topics engaging and accessible for diverse audiences
Perform fact-checking to verify technical details and ensure accuracy in all published materials

Requirements

Proven experience in technical writing or related fields such as journalism or content writing with a portfolio demonstrating clear writing skills
Strong understanding of editorial guidelines including AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, and technical writing best practices
Excellent proofreading, copy editing, and editing skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to conduct thorough research and synthesize complex information into concise content
Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), word processing tools, and basic HTML or markup languages preferred
Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams
Experience in proposal writing or creating technical documentation for software or hardware products is a plus
Creative writing skills that enhance storytelling within technical contexts
Knowledge of fact-checking processes, AP style standards, Chicago Manual of Style guidelines, and editorial project management techniques
