Welder/Fabricator and General Laborer person needed - LOOKING TO HIRE IMMEDIATELY
Day shift hours 7:00AM - 5:00PM M-F (Some Saturdays)

We are looking for someone who is driven, hardworking, and motivated with the ability to competently use a variety of tools. This position consists of welding, fabrication, Forklifts, shop work, and helping with “yard work”. Position requires working outside a lot and in the weather.
As a welder/fabricator and general laborer you will be responsible for the fabricating, welding, cleaning, and assembling of structural steel & steel parts for large industrial equipment. This includes aligning, fitting, measuring, laying out and inspecting parts, studying specifications, gathering materials, and operating machinery. This is detailed work and requires the Fabricator to be knowledgeable of many techniques and tools. A Fabricator/Welder must constantly inspect and test welds and equipment.
We are not a manufacturing (factory) company. We do not have assembly lines.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Ability to follow direction
- Ability to use tape measure is a must
- Fabricate/weld a variety of items
- Forklift (heavy forklift experience such as using Taylors and Hysters)
- Assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a manufacturing organization
- Maintain any welding repairs needed on our large machinery
- Must be able to perform all duties in a safe manner
- Utilize handheld tools such as a screw guns, drills, and grinders
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
- Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Prioritize workflow through effective communication with management staff
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Work during inclement weather conditions indoors and outdoors
Qualification requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years shop fabricating/welding experience preferred
- Basic reading skills and must be able to follow directions
- A working knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use personal protective clothing and equipment (face shield, gloves, etc.)
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
- Ability to operate a fork-lift and an overhead crane a plus
- Specific technical or vocational training or certification preferred
- Work in a team environment and respect all teammates
- Knowledge of sawmill equipment is a plus
- Have personal means of transportation to and from work
- Knowledge of Sawmill Equipment is a definite plus.
Physical demands
- Regularly lift 30-50 pounds
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks
- Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
