Company Description

We are a small business dedicated to providing quality archaeological and cultural resource management services with offices in California and Hawai‘i. We help our clients navigate through regulatory compliance processes and provide historic preservation services to assist clients in meeting environmental regulatory requirements.

Position Summary

The Accounting Specialist will be an integral part of the Business Office at Pacific Legacy. This role works closely with our multi-office team, providing essential accounting support and excellent customer service in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This position is ideal for someone looking to build a solid foundation in accounting. You will receive hands-on training and mentorship while learning Pacific Legacy’s accounting systems and processes. As you gain experience and proficiency, you will gradually take on more complex responsibilities and work with increasing independence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other duties as assigned.

Prepare vendor and subcontractor invoices for check runs.
Reconcile vendor statements.
Enter and make bank deposits.
Support collections by sending emails and tracking customer payments.
Assist with semi-monthly payroll processing and related tasks.
Assist with employee timesheets and expense reports.
Document and update Accounting Department policies and procedures.
Assist with the processing of 1099’s.
Compile information for external auditors, as required.
Support the team with various ad-hoc projects, as needed.
Maintain security, confidentiality, and controls on all documents in the Accounting Department.

Required Qualifications

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience in accounting or business.
Excellent attention to detail, organized, consistent, dependable, and trustworthy.
Analytical / data-driven mindset.
Desire to enter the accounting field.
Experience with Microsoft Excel.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
