About SacNPA

Sacramento NeuroPsych Associates (SacNPA) is a fast-growing outpatient psychiatry practice with three locations across the greater Sacramento region — Folsom, Rocklin, and our soon-to-open Natomas office. We serve children, adolescents, and adults with psychiatric medication management, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and Spravato (Esketamine) treatment. We are committed to expanding access to high-quality mental health care — and we’re looking for a talented Billing Manager to help drive the financial health of our practice.

Why This Role Is Different

This isn’t a billing department buried in a large health system. You’ll work directly with physician partners, have real authority over billing operations across three locations, and build processes that matter. If you’ve been doing the work without the title — or you’re ready to step into full ownership of a billing function in a meaningful specialty — this is the opportunity.

Primary Work Location

This role is based full-time at our Folsom office (2150 E Bidwell St, Folsom CA 95630). As Billing Manager, you will oversee billing operations across all three SacNPA locations — Folsom, Rocklin, and our upcoming Natomas office — providing real growth opportunity as the practice expands.

Key Responsibilities

Billing Operations & Revenue Cycle

Oversee all aspects of in-house billing operations across Folsom, Rocklin, and Natomas locations
Manage the full revenue cycle: charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and denial management
Monitor and actively reduce AR aging; implement strategies to minimize outstanding patient balances
Oversee prior authorization, appeals, and reimbursement for specialty services including TMS (CPT 90867–90869) and Spravato (J0013, G2082/G2083)
Monitor payer policy changes affecting behavioral health and implement operational adjustments
Conduct regular internal billing audits for accuracy, compliance, and completeness
Ensure timely and accurate claims submissions through the Office Ally clearinghouse
Oversee collections processes and work with payers to resolve disputed or denied claims
Oversee insurance verification and eligibility checks

Team Leadership & Staff Development

Directly manage and supervise a team of 8 billing staff across in-person and remote settings
Train new and existing staff on billing workflows, coding guidelines, and Office Ally system functions
Establish clear performance expectations, conduct regular check-ins, and provide ongoing coaching
Coordinate workflows and communication between on-site Folsom billers and remote staff

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure billing practices comply with HIPAA, payer policies, and applicable state and federal regulations
Develop and monitor key revenue cycle KPIs — days in AR, denial rates, clean claim rates, and collection percentages
Report directly to practice partners with regular financial and revenue cycle updates
Stay current on coding updates relevant to psychiatry, TMS, and Spravato billing

Qualifications

Required

Minimum 3–5 years of medical billing experience with at least 2 years in a billing manager or supervisory role
Hands-on experience with the Office Ally billing system and clearinghouse (or similar EHR systems).
Strong working knowledge of medical billing and coding including psychiatric and behavioral health CPT codes
Demonstrated experience managing AR, audits, denials, and collections in a multi-provider practice
Experience managing or coordinating both in-person and remote billing staff
Proficiency with commercial payer and Medi-Cal billing processes
Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret billing reports and present findings to leadership
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred — Not Required if Experience is Strong

Psychiatry, mental health, or behavioral health billing background
Familiarity with TMS and Spravato billing and prior authorization processes
Experience with Managed Care Medi-Cal plans (Anthem Blue Cross & Carelon)
CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CMRS (Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist) certification
