Kitchen Assistant / Food Preparation Worker (Part-Time/Full -Time)

Kreayola Kids Learning Centers has proudly served the community for over 30 years by providing quality care and education for children. We are looking for a dependable, energetic, and caring Kitchen Assistant/Food Preparation Worker to join our team.

Food Handler Certification is REQUIRED.

Job Summary

The Kitchen Assistant/Food Preparation Worker is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. This position also supports the overall needs of the childcare center and assists during special events and summer camp activities.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and daily snacks according to menu requirements.
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times.
Wash dishes, utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas.
Assist with stocking food, supplies, and kitchen inventory.
Assist with online food ordering and inventory management.
Receive and properly store food deliveries.
Work cooperatively with teachers and staff to meet the nutritional needs of children.
Assist with center events, summer camp activities, and other operational needs as assigned.
Communicate professionally with staff, vendors, and management.
Successfully complete all required background checks.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and climb as needed.
Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds while receiving deliveries, stocking inventory, and moving food and kitchen supplies.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Qualifications

Food Handler Certification (Required)
Minimum of 1 year of food preparation or food service experience
Experience working in childcare, schools, or institutional kitchens is preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and communication skills
Positive attitude with a caring and patient personality
Creative thinker with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, punctual, and dependable
Comfortable working around young children

Preferred Experience

Food preparation for children or students
Meal planning and inventory management
Ordering food and kitchen supplies
Working with children, including those with special needs
Conflict resolution and teamwork

Schedule

Monday through Friday

Available shifts include:

5:30 AM – 9:30 AM (4-hour shift)
5:00 AM – 1:00 PM (8-hour shift)

Hours may increase during summer camp, special events, and center activities. Overtime is available when needed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
