Full Job Description

Eycon is looking for a motivated, fast-paced, and people-focused team member to join our growing optical and patient care team. This is a part-time role, approximately 2–3 days per week, with shifts available between Monday and Saturday. The position will support both our Fort Washington, MD and Navy Yard, DC locations.

This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, coachable, highly organized, and comfortable working in a busy environment where speed, teamwork, communication, technology, and attention to detail matter every day.

Optical experience is helpful, but not required. We are willing to train the right person who has the right attitude, work ethic, computer skills, and ability to learn quickly.

Position Overview

As an Optical Sales & Patient Care Associate, you will support both the optical and front desk experience. You will help patients select eyewear, explain lens options, support check-in and check-out, answer phones, schedule appointments, and help keep the office running smoothly.

This is not a slow-paced position. We are looking for someone who can stay focused, multitask, communicate clearly, use technology efficiently, and move with urgency while still providing a polished and friendly patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Assist patients with frame selection, lens options, eyewear styling, and basic fittings
Support optical sales by helping patients understand their eyewear options
Process optical orders accurately and efficiently
Help check patients in and out
Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and assist with patient questions
Use office technology, scheduling systems, and electronic health record software throughout the day
Create, update, and manage basic documents as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional optical space
Work closely with the doctor, optician, and front desk team to keep the day moving smoothly
Learn basic vision insurance processes for exams and eyewear
Help create a high-quality patient experience from arrival to checkout

What We Are Looking For

Comfortable using technology throughout the day for scheduling, documentation, patient communication, and order processing
Comfortable working at either Fort Washington, MD or Navy Yard, DC as needed
Availability Monday through Saturday preferred

Preferred, But Not Required

Optical, retail, sales, front desk, hospitality, or customer service experience
Experience working in a medical, dental or a luxury retail environment
Experience with electronic health records, scheduling software, or practice management systems
Interest in eyewear, style, healthcare, or patient care
