Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Sterilization Technician to ensure the highest standards of infection control and sterilization within our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sterile processing procedures, medical equipment sterilization, and infection prevention protocols. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for preparing, sterilizing, and maintaining dental instruments and equipment to support safe and efficient patient care. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a clean, safe, and compliant clinical environment while advancing your expertise in healthcare infection prevention.

Duties

Perform sterilization and reprocessing of dental instruments, including surgical tools and endoscopes, following established aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols.
Assemble, inspect, and package sterile medical instruments to ensure proper functioning and safety before use in procedures.
Manage inventory levels of sterilization supplies, ensuring timely replenishment and proper storage to prevent contamination.
Conduct decontamination procedures on used instruments utilizing appropriate cleaning agents and techniques aligned with infection control standards.
Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance documentation for compliance purposes.
Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate efficient instrument turnover and readiness for patient procedures.
Adhere strictly to healthcare infection prevention and control guidelines to minimize cross-contamination risks within the practice.
Stay current with advancements in sterile processing technology, medical terminology, and infection prevention practices to uphold best practices.

Skills

Expertise in sterile processing medical instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization techniques.
Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to dental procedures for proper instrument handling.
Proficiency in inventory management systems to track supplies and maintain stock levels efficiently.
Familiarity with medical equipment operation, including sterilizers such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners.
In-depth understanding of infection control principles specific to dental healthcare environments.
Ability to perform endoscope reprocessing with attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
Excellent organizational skills coupled with meticulous record-keeping abilities for compliance documentation.
Knowledge of surgical instrument sterilization, handling procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for patient safety.
